It depends on the item. Some contours and shapes look better with certain colour combos that others. For example, my motorcycle has a sorta deep blue colour to the tank and side covers. Which looks fantastic compared to the other option, red. But for me, if I have to pick a colour, it'd be pink (or some variation there of).
