it absolutely looks to good to be true. Why would they give up a huge growing part of their business? No company would do that. and even if Google is serious about this all the millions of websites will swithc to similar companies like google that will continue tracking.

The difference between them is that they have a different desktop environment and some programs are different. I recommend you try them all personally I use manjaro KDE and so far it’s good. KDE is relatively Windows like in the standard configuration but it’s very flexible and can be heavily modified. Gnome is a Destop environment that focuses on a clean design but it’s not that much customizable like KDE. In the early days Google relied on a similar business model like DuckDuckGo ( selling the first ( or second or third ) search result for certain keywords).

Why would they? Their whole concept of their business is based on not doing things like that. could you please explain what you mean? ( I‘m curious )
