The purpose of a mask is not to protect yourself it’s to protect others from you.   To make them feel safe.  Taking a shower daily is not something one does for themselves generally.  It takes the better part of a week before you can smell yourself.  It’s something people do so others won’t avoid them.

it’s a fair trade off when beaches are opening when masks are mandatory. Plus we’re currently experiencing a heatwave so going to the beach is more tempting right now anyways.

Its piece of mind for people imo.  Its to give them a false sense of safety when in public. They probably dont realize that the masks probably are not being washed and its just a cloth germ pit.

 

Some stores around here have made it a rule but its not required by law or anything and I see 100x more people not wearing them then wearing them.

There have to be people traveling back and forth and there isn’t much of that.  It’s unlikely but not impossible.

There's a lot of trade with China. 

 

That said I wouldn't trust South Korean outlets when it comes to NK.

The other thing is for there to be official cases there has to be testing.  Testing is hard.  Is pretty advanced and involved.  DNA stuff.  They might not be able to do it which means that while there may be people dying from it they don’t actually have “confirmed cases”

Not just trade (as in commercial trade), NK has thousands of people working in Chinese factories. Probably part of some deals between China and NK.

If you go watch the conference he didnt tell people to inject lysol . He didnt word it the best but what he was talking about (and he was talking/asking doctors) is something they actually kinda do (putting safe type of uv lights into a persons body to fight a virus).

 

Thats the problem with the media they care more about clicks then anything. If it causes and outrage who cares if its true or not. 

 

Its like when they claimed he was responsible for the couple who drank fish tank cleaner. Thats BS. The woman was crazy and hated the president prior to all this. If you ask me she knew what she was doing and wanted to carol baskins her husband.

 

If you are dumb enough to drink fish tank cleaner or lysol they have nobody to blame but themselves and im honestly surprised they made it this long in life lol.

He didn't mention Lysol by name, true.  But the problem is that Trump was still spitballing about ideas that not only won't work, but in the case of injecting disinfectant (which he did speculate about) are out-and-out dangerous.  And no political leader is supposed to be floating suggestions without knowing the facts, especially when those suggestions could kill people.  It's telling that there were not only hordes of people asking if it's safe to consume disinfectants, but that Lysol had to put out a "please don't ingest our chemicals" warning.

 

To steer this away from the political edge... let's just say that you should put your trust in people who are either directly qualified to speak on the subject of the virus, like doctors and scientists, or use those people as the source of their information.

What? This is not a thing, never has been. The Sun gives off so much UV light that if that was the case we'd never get a viral infection. Like I said earlier in the topic, once a Virus is attached to a cell in a body its effectively living off that cell, it bonds with it and becomes a part of it. To kill the virus internally you would also have to kill the cells its attached and I've grown pretty partial to my body cells. Just because something works external to the body it does not mean it also works internally.

 

And no, he didn't say it directly but he said say it and for a world leader to say that during the middle of a global emergency is astonishing.

He didnt say lysol he said disinfectant. Thats a big difference. Chemotherapy is technically injecting a disinfectant into your system.

And yes there are scientists who have been working on uv light related treatments for a long time now.

Given the warm weather, it looks to be that people want to go to the beach more so than they respect the Stay-At-Home order. Wonder if there will be any fallout from this.

The beach is not impossible I suspect.  A crowded beach i don’t think is safe though.  Part of the problem is everyone is at the mercy of the dumbest person on the beach and there are some dumb people.
