I think P3D will be hard pressed to make another 2.5 throw when we are gaining on them in Rosetta, it could be a very close finish.

Depends on if they have a lot of GPUs lying around that can't be used for Rosetta. They can be used for Amicable IF you have enough RAM (which I don't)

Rosetta doesn't affect NumberFields and one is CPU only and the other is a GPU event, Amicable has more impact on that

Back to Bunkering

That will allow us to try and hold 7th on Cross Country, and still bunker for a day for the final Javelin, for those of us that have been running Amicable tasks. Hopefully they don't have bunkers behind us because i pretty much spent mine over the last day to help hold our lead.

It'll probably be tough to hold them off. Rechenkraft put together three similar throws on Javelin so they're probably going to put full GPU resources into Cross Country for the duration.

 

With that said, I've put the rigs able back on Cross Country. The remainder bunkering Javelin.

My final tally for Javelin was 734,600 on 12,418 tasks. So an average of only 59 Points per task. (My original estimates were based on 75 points per task)

 

584,390 on 9,894 tasks from the Bunkers and 150,210 on 2,524 tasks during the Throw itself.

 

I should be able to contribute 750,000 on the final throw.

I've swapped my 1080 from folding to Amicable. 

 

Not much but let's hope we keep our head above water there.

 

Added a couple more threads from my machines to Rosetta, can feel it grinding away now when I'm using my main machine but it will be worth it!

When it's the same computer like that with the same GPUs running the same OS version etc often it can just be the same computer running multiple boinc instances reporting as different computers. Kinda depends, some do have that amount of hardware but what you see isn't always real.

I've only got a measly quad core i5 4460 so it's not really going to make too much of a dent. Is it better if I just run Rosetta or would I make more of an impact if I bunker for the sprint event?

 

I'm currently also bunkering some more of numberfield for the 5th throw as well.

Rosetta, taking 2nd is 10 points and also cooler. We should do well enough in Sprint but unless you're vying for one of the top positions each place isn't worth as much as going from 3rd to 2nd.

How much RAM do you have? Rosetta likes about 1GB/per running task so I hope you have at least 4GB.

I'll be away most of tomorrow, I'll take a laptop and I might be able to do some monitoring etc. I'll not release any of my Sprint bunkers other than maybe 1 just to check it's all working. Shouldn't matter, no deadlines/nothing important luckily.

Started to bunker Javelin as much as possible. They are low on tasks. But I did get bunch of tasks for Sprint since there is a lot of tasks to do be completed.

Since our plan is to bunker for Throw 5, stat changes for the next 24 hours (or until May 16, 0:00 UTC, when Throw 4 ends) won't matter too much to us.

I try to start bunkering, but i'm writing a biology exam in a few hours so i dont think i'm able to start bunkering until 1pm (in Germany)
