Ok we will see mine is a quad core so will be interesting...charging it currently...will see what damage rosetta does to it lol...well rosetta wont run it only has 2gb ram total and needs 2gb ram to run

I finally got around to replacing the MB on my all in one to find i also had an issue is the PSU LOL, though i will admit the PSU was plugged directly to the wall and was not connected to computer during the storms the other weekend. so should have a new psu tomorrow it will boot on a 210 but I don't want to fry my 210 trying to run rosetta when it calls for a 330.

About the fact you're bilingual? Strut that s*** with pride man. I tried to pick up a second language years ago and fell flat on my face.

those running amicable on your GPU are you Noticing the times per WU has almost Doubled today? Mine seem to be much higher all of a sudden and teps are in the low 60sC on both cards in bender.  trying to see if im going crazy as all of a sudden the tasks are taking 30-45 mins each...maybee its rosetta pausing it to see what happens....

Amicable seems buggy to me.

Im running 12CPU jobs, giving 13 CPU's to BOINC instance.

First job, done in around 4-5 hours

Second job, 1hr and 0.003% done, All threads maxed out.

 

Grrr.. now I'm going to have to switch again.

It can become weird at time...

I do not count the number of time when in the middle of a meeting my brain switch to English mid sentence after crossing a borrowed word. Usually leads to a lot of confused looks

Houston, we have a problem.

 

NumberFields has enable Ghost Tasks meaning if they see you requesting work in a new instance it will check to see if all the work it thinks it's assigned to your host is in that instance and, if not, re-issue it to you.

 

So I'm seeing work geeting assigned to my current bunker that I've already completed but is in another suspended instance.

 

Ideas?

For me its only about 2mins slower than before. So not much difference for me.

So the only way is to buy a bunch of cloud servers and stop one and start a new one again..

There was a notification from the project I got in BOINC manager saying they had disabled that, maybe just a passing issue.

 

Only thing I can suggest is Linux and Docker as that'll be a new host GUID, that or VMs with GPU passthrough. Both of these are high effort if not already doing it though.

Amicable is really sensitive to memory capacity and memory bandwidth I've found, as well as NUMA if you are multi socket. Unless you can brute force a lot of work Rosetta is probably better.

I always wondered if someone who was native to two or more languages could ever mistakenly transition between them as if they were one dictionary without realizing it.

Yep I'm using it as I'm running BOINC on some prod servers so I can't taint them with BOINC BS, docker is perfect for that.

msi afterburner crashed on me at sometime.  My 1070Ti was running about 92*.  We are back down to 77* now .   Amicable numbers is definitely heating up my room a bit more.

And you could combine it with Kubernetes and create a cluster.

yeah i paused rosetta and speeds up quite a bit...so rosetta is being wound down on bender

Thanks - I'll add that to my skeleton for creating the instances. - Nope - still added using the hostname - I even added a second loopback with the same hostname but no joy - it is read by the config file but doesn't seem to do anything.

 

I just Suspended the instance with all the resent tasks and created a new instance and that one loaded OK. I'm guessing their server is getting hammered.

Question, I've moved back all but my two biggest servers to Rosetta so should I leave them online or bunker?
