Throw 1 560k points were from me from a few days bunkering on CPU. Throw 2 I contributed very little as I was doing Uni.

I can either bunker Javelin, do Cross Country or Marathon. Or split my systems across multiple of these.

I think if I can get some support for Javelin I can carry most of the load on my GPUs which will leave the CPUs of the heavy hitters to be used for the other events.

Thats why I’m proposing we defer on either Throw3 or 4 but if we are going to do that then we should all agree on which to defer on so we’re not squandering resources.

I can’t run Amicable as I’m running Rosetta on all my dual-GPU systems and they just have 16GB so those that can run Amicable on GPUs should continue to do so if we need to keep up the pace there.

It differs a lot for me as I am running CS:GO in background, have ~20 tabs open and few more apps running on top of playing WoW.

2080 Super

Validated:

Lowest Time: 180 seconds (probably didn't do anything at that time)

Highest Time: 1400 seconds (23 min - was playing WoW without ALT-Tabbing)

Average Time (while not doing anything): 184 seconds

Average Time (while doing what I described in first sentence): 727 seconds (12 minutes)

Pending Validation:

Lowest Time: 120 seconds

Average Time (while not doing anything): 155 seconds

So here is a sample of my CPU runs

image.png.5f99535d2309b4ffeaafaed328e47e2f.png

Bigger systems are doing the CPU jobs in 11-15 minutes then it ranges from 30 minutes to 1 hour as each systems gets smaller/older.

With the rigs that can't do Amicable, I estimate I'll be good for about 100k credits on the next Javelin throw, possibly more if we wait until the 4th throw.

I have all my rigs on Marathon now. I'll keep them here until you guys feel they have better use elsewhere.

Amicable is starting to get really low on jobs fyi, watch out that your systems don't run dry

It's a lot better than it was when the event started. It dipped below 800 task to be sent before it recovered, maybe lower before I noticed.

We won't be able to do back to back 1.5m+ throws will we? Like zero chance correct? If that is the case then we should seek to only bunker ~3m worth of points and no more, if your tasks don't expire until after the 18th then skipping the 3rd throw (current) might be best. Then we can control release exactly 1.5m then asses how much more when need to bunker for the last throw.

I have a few tasks with a deadline on the 14th, some on the 17th but most on the vast majority will be the 18th and later and I can control somewhat which are released when.

I'll do a thorough analysis and include my daily capacity during the throw. We may get luck and they may announce the last Throw date and/or the final event which may help the decision making. At any rate unless the last event is GPU my GPUs won't be able to do any more work after Javelin is over.

How do you control the release for the Javelin Throw?

I keep track of the earliest deadline date per bunker. In general you have to release a whole bunker but if your lucky it will start releasing the units with the earliest deadline first then you can stop the upload using the controls.
