I love my regular EVGA 2080 FTW3. I'm can't wait for the 3080ti. I'm gonna go big and make this one a full time folder/guest gamer.

I'm trying to be good and only upgrade what I needed to get the system up and alive again, waiting for the new GPUs to drop then jump on those. I can't deny I was tempted to get a 2070 for an in between and drop it into another machine for my parents after or as my work PC so it could fold.

Please do not take this the wrong way, but if you're buying a card new... something that does not the require the connector will be very low folding performance for the price.

I would recommend saving for a better card snd/or power supply upgrade if that's what is holding you back.

GTX1650 would be my guess as Turing has the best efficiency (PPD/W)

I walked in to my local Microcenter and they had a pristine 2070S Triple-Fan Open Box in white sitting there. I couldn't say no. Some poor sap probably brought it home and got reamed out and forced to return it.

its an convection oven it has come down since the fan replacement this morning...was maxing at 80C before intervention i run it at 80% fan to get it down to 55-60C which allows my AMD card above it to run at 80%-90% to keep it at 63-67c where it was at 70-80c with fans at max...but of course the temps i am reading now are post maglev 140MM fans have 2 more coming in once they are installed will see what the video cards do stock with all that positive pressure. as all 4 140 MM fans will be intake in the front 1/2 when i get my sea sonic i will invert it so the fan pulls from chassis so i will have 3 exhaust fans 1x12 1x135 and 1x140.   currently as the psu is being finicky i have it pulling from under chassis to allow cooler air.

I know it won't be amazing, but I've been thinking of picking up a cheap used card to throw in an old desktop to quietly do its thing over time.

Seems like today's WU's are going much smoother. Yesterday 2 of my 3 rigs were at idle. I can't sit at them all day pausing and restarting to babysit the app. But today they've been doing better than normal

As for used <75W cards, the GTX 1050 Ti would be the best option.

My 2080 plays a lot of games without issue while folding, with a small reduction in PPD.

my 2060 will likely never play a game the rest of its life.

now my 5700xt will likely but it appars i may have a bad fan have reached out to XFX to see what to do as if i revup the rear fan above 2500RPM starts vibrating and if i go to 3000+ it is really bad.
