Just found out that one of my front intakes in my 24/7 server, has died

It has been measuring 0rpm since 14 Feb. RIP Noctua NF-A14 PWM

Not an easy hotswap though, since i cable managed it in the back, and the server is on top of a closet.

Good thing i got at least three of the same spare fans.

That however is true. But that is not an usual thing since we know how much we grew in last month and event has started near end of March. So... nothing new, but okay, he is right, we got a big production.

Yes, at least I have been using a p104-100, mining 1070, for two years now. But mining rigs are not optimal, F@H needs something like a 4xPcie link too keep the GPU fed with data, mining rigs usually only have a 1x link.

Nothing about these should negatively affect folding performance over something like a GTX 1050 Ti.  They appear to utilize all 16 lanes and are PCIe 3.0, but PCIe bandwidth isn't a huge factor in folding AFAIK, just as it isn't in mining.  I don't know if these can be fully bus powered as a 1050/Ti can.  I suspect they can, but have the 6-pin plug for mining rigs that only provide an x1 electrical interface to the cards.

EDIT: I can't figure out definitively if the Zotac cards have any of the bus crippling that seems to be present with the no-name and possibly Gigabyte variants.  PCIe 3 x4 or x8 shouldn't drop PPD too bad, but dropping down to less than PCIe 1 x16 or PCIe 2 x8 might pose a problem.

Alright, I think I'll buy one and see how it does. Either of you think a single P106-100 (1060-6GB) is worth it over getting 2x P106-90 (1060-3GB)?

Lost my RTX2080 super again last night, but i finally figured out what was causing the problem. digged through logs to find i was getting PCI communication errors right before failure. It was a bad PCIE Riser. Hopefully everything will just work now. Figures Crossed

i would think that 2x 106-90s would get more than a single 106-100 but the fp is half on the 90 so... i would likely go with the 100...

It looks like the only difference is

the 090 is FP64 (double) performance: 73.49 GFLOPS (1:32)

&

the 100 is FP64 (double) performance: 136.7 GFLOPS (1:32)

After 4+ hours, finishing one of the largest WU's my 1070 has crunched: 141K points estimate. In the previous days there was one with 150K+ points, those must have been the largest so far:
