$5000-$10000 gaming setup

LokiElixir

Guys, he made a weird and a bit embarassing flex but responding with borderline insecure hostility isn't particularly flattering either.

Oh and btw. saying that people here are not impressed by costly builds is factually incorrect, as evidenced by the posts in 1. "Show off your setup" 2. Watercooling Gallery 3. Build Logs. Just sayin'.

And this wasn’t posted on those threads, it was posted on a new one, what can you expect from that point?

We're not impressed with bragging. Yes, people do like costly builds (myself included) but bragging about them just spoils the whole thing.

Also his PC isn't as costly as you make it sound. It's an ibuypower prebuilt with an i7 8700, H310 mobo and a gtx 1060 3gb. Yes, it is expensive but it's not the best PC out there.

Wait, he's bragging about a 1060 3gb?  Huh, maybe my build's better than I thought.

depends. if you drive away from the dealer they lose most of their value... but i think we made our point here

Lose "most of their value"? Nah. That's factually incorrect.

A car generally loses about 30% of it's value in the first year. While 30% is a lot (that number then shrinks and settles out over the next 2 years), but it's definitely not "most of their value". Not by any stretch.

Granted, roughly speaking, buying a 3 year old car is the best time to buy one, from a value/resale perspective.

@LokiElixir I applaud the fact that you wanted something, so you got a job and went out and worked for it. That's great. Prop's, man.

With that in mind? Dude, my man. Your grammar is atrocious. It actually physically hurt me to read your post. I admit, I didn't even get to the end, and started skimming about halfway through.

It's great that you saved up $1500 or so and got the PC you wanted. But my friend, let me give you some advice:

Stop there.

Do not waste $5,000, let alone $10,000 on a PC. If you're 16, and you're saving the kind of money you're talking about in the OP? You should be heavily saving (with some investing) for your future. Whether that future means saving for College or University? Or perhaps saving for your first car or for a house (for after you graduate school)?

Or maybe just start saving for a slush fund, or even for retirement.

Does that mean spend no money on a PC? Hell no. You gotta live a little. But please don't waste a lot of money on a Gaming PC while ignoring your future financial situation.

then I also have two gaming consoles with about 50-200 games between the two of them all bought for $50 or more

This is so fake. This is such a wide range. You know how many damn games you have. I could see saying 50-60, but 50-200 is such a wide range.

Also you have such a mediocre PC that is not impressing anyone. And 144hz 1080p monitors aren't impressive at all, you can get them for $200 each.

In the end if you enjoy the setup that's all that matters. Whether you or family paid for it doesn't really matter much. I honestly didn't read your post because I cannot concentrate on posts with zero punctuation and proper spacing. Run on sentences grind my gears. I gathered from the replies that it was a flex post but seriously, enjoy the setup and please properly punctuate your posts. Also rotate images so we don't have to break our necks to see it.

Does anybody read a wall of text?

I wouldnt even bother.

For 5k to 10k for games is excessive if its in USD, but no currency was listed, unless its hidden in the wall of text.

Simple paragraph writing/typing will be extinct in 20 years time.
