We are but a forum of tech enthusiasts, raring to go at even the slightest possibility at waving out dic.... *ahem* Giggahertz  in other peoples faces!

You have the hardware, but are you willing to put it to the test?

I will be going all in, every core, every FPU, every minute... But... are you up to the task?

@palespartan @iamdarkyoshi @Gorgon @Den-Fi.com @RollinLower @Cereal5 and the rest of you, you ready to paint the tech world orange?

Gets a bit too warm here to go all in. This is usually when I cut folding production in half. I can throw something at it though.

Are you running Beta WUs? If so the OpeMM 22 WUs that had been generating increased points on Windoze are now petering out. If you got off your Android and had a decent monitoring tool you’d see this ?

Any mod can do it, though it might be by a "by permission from admin" request. I made a suggestion about it a while back and thats how we found out.

At least with BOINC, you can set the application to use less than 100% of the hardware resources within the application itself.

Even run times and download times can be set as well for the WUs.

I don't usually run 100% daily, but let my CPU run around 50-70% usage.  This keeps the heat levels down.

I have not as I haven't had much time to play with it recently but I have been seeing these production levels note frequently in recent days and weeks. I will investigate further soon.

If your not power limiting or under-clocking the card then it is under performing

From L to R 1060 6GB #1, 1060 6GB #2, 1070Ti, 2060, 2070,

So you should be somewhere around or above the 2060 (1.19 MPPD on Linux)  which is posting an average of 67s TPF on that WU

Currently, for stuff to get featured, it needs to be officially endorsed by LMG, or be an official forum announcement. It's not the latter, and I have no control over the former, sorry.

How would we go about trying to get it officially endorsed? @jakkuh_t any ideas? We wanna blow the other teams outta the water.

O my, that be a high goal to aim for.

SETI.Germany, USA, and China tend to be the three big hitters in the event.  Though, I seen some of the smaller teams manage to knock one or two of them off the top three spots in some of the disciplines for the event.  Was a major fan fair when OCN took 1st place in the GPU one.  Was not easy, I was part of that team back then and the amount of folks we had to get together to do that was nuts (had one chap running around into ever GPU thread and game thread asking for help in the GPU part of the event).

Yep, for the Team's first year, it did really well.  Lets hope this year the team can aim to do better.

I still hope to some day see the Chimp Challenge come back (big annual F@H event), but to get all the tech forums back on board be a challenge in itself.

Does anyone have any insight as to the ppd an RX 570 might produce? (it's not listed in the Overclockers GPU spreadsheet). The store down the road has one for an absolute steal... and since my current card only does 80k-ish ppd, it's not hard to improve on that..

AMD GPUs dont fold too well afaik, they do seem to do well in many BOINC projects though.

It would fall somewhere between the RX 470 and RX 480, most likely only 5% or so faster than the 470.

I'd say something like 275k-285k ppd, but may be slightly higher.

I've been thinking more about my production rates and it just doesn't seem right to me.

I currently fold on 20 Ryzen threads, a 980ti, a 1080 and a 1080ti.

1080ti = 1200k ppd

980ti = 600k ppd

1080 = 800k ppd

20 Ryzen threads = 70k ppd

But I'm barely scraping 2m ppd... Seems like I've got a half Million point shortfall.

Have I got my numbers off? I'm on mobile atm so can't look at the ppd database.

AMD GPUs dont fold too well afaik, they do seem to do well in many BOINC projects though.

It would fall somewhere between the RX 470 and RX 480, most likely only 5% or so faster than the 470.

I'd say something like 275k-285k ppd, but may be slightly higher.

Thanks Ben. Tbh even at 280k ppd, that would still be 3.5 times the production of my current old AMD card (and for the same wattage also).

It's cheap enough that I'm seriously considering an impulse purchase ? ?

Tbh I'm seriously considering an impulse purchase on a gtx 1080 hybrid I've seen for quite cheap too. Gold onto it for the BOINC event any then flip it got a profit.
