Riley knows nothing about tech. He demonstrates this again and again with his apperances on the main channel. Whomever is in charge of new hires, needs to to take a serious look at themselves, because they are failing massively.

I think they are both quite funny when they are trying to be, and informative when they want to be. I like how there have been lots of the other LTT staff (like Riley and James) appearing in the videos over the last year.

Maybe he should just fire like a quarter of his staff for not having technical literacy beyond what their job requires, is that what you're looking for? LTT is a Tech Media Outlet not a tech firm doing in depth analysis of literally everything by the entire staff

 

You got that part quite opposite. I'd say 6/21 of the staff listed on LMG home page knows more about tech than just their own specialty (so not Brandon, Taran, David). This includes Riley and James as know-nothings.

I've lurked on the forums for a little bit, and have been a subscriber to the channel for a couple years now. I'm making my first post to defend Riley and James. I really enjoy the videos Riley appears in, I think they're both funny and they add an extra dimension to the channel. I found myself chuckling quite a bit at the cheap Amazon build video just because of all the things that went wrong.

Even if they're screwing something up, I find it informative because I've gone through the same process myself at different times when I started out building systems for myself (and when I got good, for friends and family). I probably would've never known the fact about the HP ram module compatibility if not for that video.

Life is too short for these kinds of arguments, though. As others have said, if you don't like it, why watch it? It literally has their picture on the thumbnail of the videos. While you may not like a certain flavor of tea, other people may have a different palate.

While constructive criticism is welcome, this topic is not going in a constructive direction. Different people like different presenting styles and different presenters, and that is fine.
