Hey, I don't doubt that that's you, but anyone can claim anything. I thought you would provide a screenshot when I said that. I'm just saying that you still need proof, even if I believe you.

flaxe reacted to Blue4130 in Can I access programs from other HDs when dual booting?
You will be able to browse the files, as to whether you will be able to run the pro program depends on the program. Some need registry edits and those won't be on the current harddrive os install.

And obviously, this will only work if the os can read the file system. So trying to boot windows and view a linux/apple/bsd system will be problematic.

The concept is good--if not slightly unoriginal but it's very hard to be original these days, especially in the horror game category imo (I'm not a game dev or anything so I'm just going off my intuition). As long as you don't screw up the execution, it should come out great.

flaxe reacted to Avocado Diaboli in Apple sues a film creator because there is "Apple"in the title o.O
This isn't really surprising. It concerns trademarks. As a trademark owner, you have to be aggressive and litigate every possible (and even imagined) violation. If you don't, you run the risk that your trademark will be seen as genericized to the point where you lose the exclusive ability to own that trademark. Google hates it if people refer to "online search" as "googling" for that exact reason. Apple Inc. themselves have also been on the receiving end of this when they were sued multiple times by Apple Corps, the music label owned by the Beatles.

flaxe reacted to TheChromaBristlenose in Mouse Sensitivity
Contrary to popular belief, CPI/DPI is not a sensitivity setting. It controls the resolution of the mouse sensor output, breaking distances into smaller and smaller increments (called "counts") the higher you set it. Sensitivity only becomes a factor once a program begins mapping these counts into movement (pixels in a 2D environment, and radians in 3D).

In Windows, the "Cursor speed" option in Settings is the same as the slider in the Control Panel, just named differently. It controls how many pixels your counts map to on the screen - at the default setting (6/11), each count from the mouse sensor results in a single pixel of movement. Any higher or lower, this number changes which modifies your sensitivity.

In 3D games, counts-to-pixels mapping doesn't apply since pixels don't exist in 3D space. The Windows settings are therefore ignored, and instead the counts are converted into radians (increments of a 360 degree turn). The in-game sensitivity option enlarges or shrinks the radian value depending on what you set it to, modifying your sensitivity.

Make your thread titles descriptive of your actual issue/question so people with relevant knowledge notice them. Every day there are multiple threads posted with titles that are just some variation of "I need help."

Since you have a PCIe x16 slot, literally any PCIe video card could be used.

However, since this board appears to be from an HP small form factor prebuilt from 2008, most modern GPU's will be held back by the CPU and possibly also the issue of saturating the PCIe 2.0 interface. Furthermore, the limited amount of physical space inside the system is going to be a severe limiting factor, as well as the presumably pitiful power supply.

In short, if you want to play any remotely modern games, it's simply not worth trying to make any upgrades to this PC.

Which is a shame, as the Basilik 3 really does tick a lot of boxes on paper.

I have to admit, my original impression of the Razer mice was always quite poor upon trying them in the past... but Razer are a much bigger company than they were the last time I was in a computer shop looking at mice.

I can't speak too much to the rest of this, but if you want strong build quality definitely stay the fuck away from Razer. Also Razer's software is complete ass.

I plugged in a hard drive while the computer was on. The hard drive didn't like me that much after that...
A different time I was petting my cat and she brushed up against my computer. I heard a ZAP and my computer shut off. Thankfully my computer was fine.

There is zero chance you would short out your PC by putting the side panel on.

You may want to shut the PC off before putting the panel on if you're going to have to move the system while it's running.

Akko cs purple lavender swtiches, and some matcha green keycaps. Some switches on my keyboard didn't consistently actuate, so I ordered new ones. Also decided to decorate my keyboard a bit.

One thing I will say is, I've never seen a motherboard not being able to POST because of a bad CMOS battery. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This exact thing happens to me. Or, if they do happen to turn off, if I simply press my mouse button, or actuate a keyboard key, they just light up. I have no clue why it happens, so I think it's just something you're going to have to live with.

flaxe reacted to TetraSky in Why it is so hard to make a good video game movie?
It's all because the directors, writers and others like them, all want to put in their own "creative vision" instead of taking wholesale the entire thing that's already written and choregraphed in the game.
All because they feel like they have something to prove... even though nobody ask them that.
This result is shlt most of the time, because it deviate so much from the original that the fans don't like it and doesn't explain things enough for non-fans to get into it.

Also doesn't help when they've obviously never touched the source material save for maybe some youtube clips for inspiration.
