On monkeytype.com, I can get around 55 WPM peak and an average of 45-50 WPM with 80-90% accuracy

I'm at 88 WPM with 97% accuracy.

I worked in a few data entry jobs a few years ago, so you learn to "get fast".

However, it's a lot different if you're typing something that you have in mind (eg. replying to an e-mail) compared to writing random words that a website tells you to write.

Probably slowed down a bit from the caffeine-addled, frenzied days of UT99/UT2K4 I played in younger years.  Still way faster than the 'tards who can only communicate via mic/voice in gaming.

Being type-killed was a shameful badge of honor that you swore to avoid--and thus improved your typing speeds/accuracy.  I miss those days.

I got 49 WPM at 96% accuracy on my first try.

I never learned how to type "properly", actual typists would cringe at the way I type. My hands move around a lot, I have to look at the keyboard occasionally, and I type sequences of letters almost like macros. I can't really explain it, but it works.

EDIT: After a couple runs, trying for speed, this is the best I did:

On my second try; given English isn't even my native language, pretty happy with it!

I can go faster, but I do not look at the screen while typing, I need to get out of the habit so I don't have to pivot between looking at the word and actually typing. It is costing my massive amounts of time.

I think we type the same way. My hands do not rest in one spot. I think this is because my palms are disproportionately large compared to my fingers, so I have to reach a lot further than other people. Plus I do not have good control of my ring and middle finger, so home row is difficult. On my left hand I use more of my fingers (i.e my pinkie and index finger, thumb for spacebar) where on my right hand I only use my index and middle finger. The fact that I can get 52 WPM means something, but I'm not sure what.

on my chromebook at school (which i swear has more deck flex than key travel lol), i get 45wpm at 95% acuracy.

On my mechanical keyboard at home, I can get like 60-70wpm at 90%

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

I am getting pretty fucking sick and tired of the "watch something else" responses. It's such a cop out answer because you could say that about basically anything, and it doesn't address the actual complaints. People use it as some kind of card they pull when they can't actually respond to the criticism raised but they still feel like they need to defend some company/person. If you don't like this thread then stop reading it. See how stupid it is? It's basically like telling someone "shut the fuck up". It's not a clever responsive, it doesn't address anything said, and it is rude.

This question is just an invitation for me to flex, so I will. I type 100+ wpm consistently with around 92% accuracy.

Did I mention that I'm 14.

I don't see proof. Literally every other submission shows proof of their current scores. I believe it when I see it.

I guess that's not bad considering i have fine motor disability from a condition i will not disclose.

So most of the community are above average typists it seems.

I don't think that matters so much.  What does matter is if you were trying to do this on an ANSI keyboard if you normally use ISO....or something to that effect.

There's also no capital letters, no punctuation marks, and no numbers.  So WPM is going to naturally be a bit slower when those are factored in.

my own average and peak of WPM on typeracer.com is 52 anc 61 if that matters
