Oh, that's interesting I guess... But I want to know how many of those "photo of RTX3080" listings have been sold.

    Temperature difference?
    Power Consumption ?

Simply showing a graph with numbers on it means very little when you consider everything else.
2 to 8% better... sure, but if you need a cryo chiller to cool it down and consume 400W, it may as well be dead on arrival (just an example).
Then, according to these, they are comparing their 8 cores/16 thread CPU to the AMD 12 cores/24 threads.
You lose 4 cores and you gain as little as 2% at 1080p ?  Not sure it's worth it when you consider EVERYTHING ELSE we can do with a PC. Then again, single core clock has always been Intel's "forte" in the last couple of years, which is typically what games still demand instead of properly using multicores.

Wouldn't be the first time Intel lied on their graphs, too.
    Better wait for independent reviews...

If it's 1-8% at 1080p it's probably nothing at 1440p and 4k. Knowing Intel, they'll charge $550 for it and claim it's the best thing since sliced bread. I guess it'll at least make a good 800FPS CSGO CPU.

Osiris199 reacted to RejZoR in Game on with a better budget - Nvidia @ CES + 3060 announcement
What a lame event. Literally nothing new except the banging on the chest how awesome NVIDIA is. DLSS still stuck with per-game limitation, RTX still in only few select games, announcement of RTX 3060 that has been out for ages in Ti variant and is very much unobtainable like the rest and a meaningless "laptop" launch of devices not even made by NVIDIA that happen to have a tiny bit from them inside. Sigh. Was hoping they'll gonna announce game agnostic DLSS, but no such thing. Just tiny bit more of the same old everything.

Also, anyone noticed how they conveniently marketed RTX 3060 as "60 fps" card and put the framerate above 60 fps with DLSS? Sorry NVIDIA, but just quit with this bullshit. When DLSS is game agnostic, sure. But when it's very much and entirely dependent on the game supporting it, you can't claim it's "60 fps" mark as something it does globally. Coz it doesn't. It's in those games and those games only. It's crappy and it's misleading marketing BS speak.

Osiris199 reacted to Spotty in Wait 36 hours to review bomb-Metacritic makes you wait 36 hours to review a game
They'd be able to review it, but they would have to wait 36 hours after the game was released to review it. This also wouldn't be a problem for anyone who purchased the game after the first 36 hours of its release.

    From the article:

People who haven't played the game would still be able to leave a review on metacritic. I don't even own a playstation nor have I ever played the last of us games but I could still leave a review for it if I wanted to.

I understand the problem they're trying to solve - SJWs and Butthurt simps reviewing bombing a product because they don't like something about it (in particular those who haven't even played the game but are just latching on to something they saw on twitter, etc).

However, I think preventing reviews in the first 36 hours might not be a good thing in the long run. A lot of people purchase games in the first few days of its release and if there's a blackout on customer reviews in the first few days then it could harm the customers ability to research the product before buying it. For example; if there's game breaking bugs on release day and I see that in reviews I know not to waste my time and money buying the game straight away. I can wait a week or two for them to fix the bugs in a patch and when I see reviews and comments saying that the bugs are fixed then I can reconsider buying the game again. Maybe wait a month or two for things to improve and by then it might be discounted from its original launch price.

Osiris199 reacted to Dujith in FINALLY! A safe, lightweight all-in-one SCUBA package for recreational divers. And it's not a scam ;)
I'm a bit skeptic about this. The major issue with a re-breather is handling the flow and Co2.
If any valve fails or leaks you will not notice this till its to late, same with the flowrate. The second you notice this its already to late.

Them saying this is "safe" raises an eyebrow with me. There is a reason why the standard scuba setup (tank with premixed air, open breather. bye bye Co2) is used by everyone. Its safe and vaults are easily detected.

Kinda stupid design. Boyancy in a cave for example will be a nightmare.
If I want a decent rebreather, I would still buy a Revo (if I had the money).
Yes it is more bulky, but autonomy and range are much bigger and probably less trouble, like clearing the ears.

use microsoft's Download assistant to make a bootable USB drive, then go into your boot options and select your USB drive to boot to, then windows install should begin.

your MoBo should have an easy UEFI that lets you just click the drive you want to boot to.
if not, go to boot options, then change boot priority, make "removable media" the first boot device. (removable media may be named something else.)
you may also need to enable legacy boot if you're trying to load an older version of windows.

always use the USB 2.0 ports on the back of the MoBo, not 3.0 ports or Case header ports.
you cannot boot Win7 or older onto an M.2 drive, as the installation media does not have the drivers to recognize the new hardware.

Or maybe when AMD releases something like 5800 or 5900 in the near future.
