WolfDeville got a reaction from aDoomGuy in Bent/Missing pins
I'm a little hesitant to try booting it up incase I damage the CPU. Is there any risk of that happening? I found one data sheet but wasn't entirely sure which side is which so I figured my safest bet was coming here and hoping to get the attention of someone that knows more about this than I do. I'll keep looking for a sheet. Cheers!

Managed to get an order in for an ASUS TUF 3080 before they ran out of stock, haven't received it though, and they haven't even shipped it yet

Honestly, how bad was the maintenance on the BiTurbo? I worked at a Ferrari dealership and heard all the horror stories about the 90’s-early 00’s Maseratis and Ferraris.
Side note, a friend of mine has a 355 With the license plate “NVRFIXD” 😂😂

WolfDeville reacted to FloRolf in RDNA2 VRAM Leaks: Go buy AMD cards if you want more than 10GB.
Vram doesn't tell you the hole story. If you pair an RX550 with 16gb HBM2 memory it isn't magically faster than a 3080.
-> wait for benchmarks before saying something is better than the other, unreleased thing.

WolfDeville reacted to Bad5ector in Windows registers 8gb out of 12 installed. BSOD during stress test.
Yeah, I can't remember off the top if the memory controller on that platform was in the CPU or on a chipset. It could be something wrong with the silicon of either if no physical damage is seen and everything is installed as it should be.

I can hear water flowing but maybe it's just degraded over time and can't get the job done.

I'll see how it goes. Worse case scenario I'll have to drop a bit of money on a newer AMD platform. CPU, Motherboard and RAM. Should only be around $1500 with these stupid aussie prices.

It's fine if you don't have any use for such, but you're arguably the dumb one if you can't see why others would want to use game-streaming.

Honestly I avoided posting screenshots because it sorta felt like I would be attacking him in a way. Yeah I already unfollowed him on everything and even blocked him on Twitter. I really don't know why this bothered me so much, maybe because I've been following him for a long time and held him to a higher standard

I never said or implied that he or any public figure have an obligation to be kind to their followers, but when you've only ever seen them in a positive light and then see how they treat the people that make their job possible with such atrocious levels of disrespect it makes you feel like you've been deceived all these years. If I seen him acting this way years ago I would've just unsubbed and moved on, instead I've given countless hours of ad revenue to someone that honestly didn't even deserve it IMO.
It could have easily been you tweeting at him and offering a piece of friendly advice and being shit on in return. If that were the case you'd be singing a whole other tune...

I didn't create anything in my mind. Sue me for not considering a tech YouTuber to be a professional actor.... I'm not naming and shaming anyone, he abused people on a public forum for the whole world to see shall they happen to come across it. He shamed himself.
What does it matter that I came here of all places to express my concern? Why does it matter that he's a "rival" of Linus? Are you thinking I'm playing favorites or something lol?

If they don't have any definitive proof then they're most likely just trying to cause trouble just because they're bored with their lives.

Wow, what the heck.
So posting about relatively famous internet person's very rude tweets, which are public in the first place is a cyberbullying? No wonder todays society is a bunch of pussies.
So it is okay for famous person to say "fuck you" online, but it is not okay for "nobodies" to discuss said actions? Way to go fanbois.
I personally never used and never will use twitter, I do not have any reason to and I obviously do not know Jay personally.
Of course youtube videos are basically acting in one way or another, which by itself does not lower their value, but if it was not for this thread, I would not know how Jay reacts to people elsewhere and while it still does not lower the value of his videos themselves, it definitely changed my view of him to the point, that I probably won't watch his other videos. It's one thing to have internet persona different to your own personality itself and to just straight cursing at other people online for no reason.
To me that is a decently big of a deal.

I made the thread as a way to vent my disbelief that such a prominent figure in the PC community with a hefty following can so easily shit on loyal fans. This isn't a change of behavior, I've just never really been on Twitter to see his harshness before yesterday, so good guy YouTube Jay is all I've known.
No one was trolling him, people were offering advice and he spat in their faces, when they asked why he's being mean he went nuts and started swearing at and banning people.
No I've never met Jay, I don't claim to know him personally but I also think there shouldn't be an expectation to think some computer nerd YouTuber is just playing a role in some huge act and only pretending to be nice just for the sake of appearing professional.
I honestly left a comment asking why he's being so rude and toxic but after seeing other people asked him the same question and get absolutely shit on by him, I didn't bother waiting for a reply and just blocked him.
Yeah, I usually am able to separate the artist from the art (I'm still a fan of Kevin Spacey's WORK and Danny Masterson for example), but we're talking about a tech YouTube channel here, not some multi-million dollar feature film.
Again, I did not make this thread as a way to cowardly talk behind anyone's back or shame people (which is why I avoided posting screenshots). I made it for the sole purpose of venting.

Meh. He’s not nearly as effusive about AMD as some. Shill might be strong. I dunno. I said somewhere earlier that I wasn’t an Intel fanboy. Maybe I do lean that way a bit. To make an inaccurate comparison, Intel is kinda V8 and AMD is kinda turbo 4. Same horsepower, better fuel economy for the 4, but I kinda like v8s
