Mobby Dick reacted to TheProfessionalAmateurs in What Keyboard to Buy
What's your reason for not wanting a mechanical keyboard if you have the budget? If you want silence, you could get a corsair strafe with mx silent switches or mx speed switches for well under $200.

Mobby Dick reacted to Verne in Is the blue yeti good for streaming?
Get a boom arm, bring the mic close to your mouth, lower the sensitivity so it doesn't pick up background noise. Alternatively, if you live in a noisy environment I would consider getting a different kind of a microphone.

Mobby Dick reacted to 79wjd in Cheapest gpu for 144hz
You don't need an Nvidia card. Period. End of story.
What R7 250 do you have? And are you sure you're plugging in a Dual Link DVI cable into a Dual link DVI port? (or display port if you're using display port).

Mobby Dick reacted to LAwLz in i wish I was taller
I am about 6'5" (196 cm) and I wish I was shorter.
It is such a pain being too tall. I can literally not sit in some seats on things like buses. I can almost never sit anywhere without my knees hitting whatever is in front of me.
Hugging/kissing is a real pain in the ass too. You either shove them right into your chest, or you have to lean forward/crouch in an awkward way.
So think of it on the bright side. At least you got decent amount of leg space, and there is a possibility that a tall woman will shove your face into her chest when she wants to hug you.

Mobby Dick reacted to tbake0155 in Do I have the worst FX-8350 ever?
That sounds like way too little of voltage. Too little of voltage can cause overheating as well. You should be able to squeeze out 4.4 GHz I would think.
As for prime95, it's perfectly fine. I would use a linpack test first because it's faster. And really it's all about how stable you want your overclock. I have settings for ~4.93 GHz 24+ hours stable in prime95 for my 8350. For 4.93 GHz I'm pushing about 1.5 Volts through the chip under full load with high LLC.
Keep in mind that my custom loop is about $500 dollars worth of cooling, so not the most cost effective solution.
Also as has been stated, you will see throttling around 70 degrees Celsius. And usually cores dropping out is from not enough voltage.
@Mobby Dick
I think you should put everything back to default then start over. Lock in your VID voltage, put LLC on high, then increase your multiplier by one until you start dropping cores. Then bump up the voltage, test again, repeat over and over!
It took me weeks to find a stable overclock. It starts out fun, it ends up being a pain in the ass

Mobby Dick reacted to OddsCrazyStuff in Do you guys beleieve that the white color can fit into a black & red themed pc?
Its not a problem using white along side black and red, as I did with my build. Also a lot of builds has a 3rd accent color to different the 2 main colors.

Mobby Dick reacted to Joegeddon in Budget Gaming, is a gt 730 enough?
I think the bare minimum you can get is the GTX 750. Not the Ti. Or the Radeon HD 7850.

wait for 1080's benchmark.
There will be plenty of GTX 980ti for sale used when it comes out anyway from people upgrading if SLI is better than single

Mobby Dick reacted to Dackzy in Bose QC 25 vs Beats Studio 1.0
if you need isolation get the bose, since the studio 1.0 is utter shit and belongs in a trashcan. If you don't need the ANC get normal headphones.

Mobby Dick reacted to Moonzy in molex to 4 pin adapter good?
you can use them, though not recommended
just make sure your psu's 12V rail can supply enough wattage
and that any conversion you do, the supplying wattage is larger than the one that is consuming
2x molex/sata to 1x 6 pin
you cant use the 6+2pin's 2 pin to power the next socket, it doesnt work that way
for more info
http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html
though i recommend you sell your 960 and grab a higher end single gpu
it'll save you so much trouble
1) 650W for two 960? probably fine tbh. but his psu is not the best so i dunno
2) for nvidia, just have to have the same gpu core (960), same amount of vram (4gb), and have sli fingers (some custom gpu doesnt iirc). you can mix manufacturing brands, though it'll look weird

Mobby Dick reacted to TheRandomness in Lian-Li PC-08S Custom Loop Build
64GB..... Why!? 32GB is more than enough and cheaper. Also, you don't need such an overkill PSU either. 850-1000W will give you more than enough wattage. Also, wait for benchmarks on the 1080s before buying them please.

Mobby Dick reacted to MrDexter in Looking for new Headset/Headphones
After some help from Dackzy, I believe I have found the perfect headphones for me. The Sennheiser RS 175, They are £220 around $300, and have amazing reviews. They have everything I need and include a Surround Sound system that is meant to be amazing.
After all the research I have done today, I completely agree with you.

Mobby Dick got a reaction from rhyseyness in PCI or PCIe
I would always take the pcie version because some motherboards don't have pci anymore, so it's just futureproof. As already said, audio stays the same.
