What Keyboard to Buy

Ever since 2014 I've been using a logitech wireless keyboard that is not mechanical. It survived my beating down on it for 2 years but recently it started to act up. As you know keyboards acting up aren't like a car where you can drive it until it dies because every letter you type needs to be correct. I'm looking for another nonmechanical keyboard because I create youtube videos and need a quiet keyboard that my microphone will not pick up. My price range is below $200. I would look at both wireless and wired keyboards. Thanks for any input.

There are silent mechanical switches. Mine is

I wasn't aware that they made silent mechanical keyboards. What are the advantages of mechanical keyboards? Also what would you recommend?

The advantage of a mechanical keyboard is that it actuates a keystroke at around half of the travel distance of the key. Also, your fingers usually get less fatigued when typing for a long time. You also generally get a better build quality and get more usage out of the keyboard with midrange and high end mech keyboards. I'd say that the MX Speed switches are even louder that the regular MX Reds.

As others have already mentioned,  I also give me vote for the Corsair Strafe RGB (MX SIlent) if you need something quieter than the regular mechanical keyboards and it fits your budget!

Ha.  Matias Quiet linear switches are far more quiet than the mx silent switches.
