Cryorig H5: hyper 212 is now DEAD

brownninja97

99b.jpg

So lets just break this down, i dont want you to think ive put out a title like this for no reason because something will shock you big time.

It has four 6mm copper heatpipes

Its bigger then the hyper 212 but it still has full ram compatibility

6 bloody  years of warrenty SIX YEARS, so if your heatsink suddenly explodes then you are covered, i think

A 140mm fan with 65cfm at 1200rpm(goes from 700 to 1300rpm)

99a.jpg

It has "hive" technology which reduces turbulence which means air can get from one end to the other end quicker

Furthermore they have somehow done all of this without the use of solder because trees man TREES.

Also with the combination of the hive system and a standard heatsink they have created another technology which quote "happened by accident" acting as a propelling system slingshotting air faster which doesnt directly affect the heatsink temps but it airs heat to get out of the case faster which is nice, air pockets suck.

dimensions:    L140 mm x W140 mm x H13 mm

10_top_sh_h5.jpg

Another thing to note is that the pictures on their website are bigger then 4k, a little odd.

Pricing, brace yourselves its crazy

UK: £28

Euros: 34

US: $46.99 (manufactured in the UK so prices are higher for you guys haha).

Will be on sale some time in august.

But what if my heatsink explodes after 7 years :(. I will wait for the reviews. Hasn't Cooler Master recently released a new 212?

Yes this beats it no question, this has a better fan and a better heatsink and a better price and better warrenty

How well does it perform against a Hyper 212?

This cooler is basically an ereboss, how well the ereboss do againest the 212, it murders it brutally

Its 1mm bigger and width doesnt matter

Btw the hyper 212 is £32 here at the moment.

Yeah it does, if you have a GPU in the top PCIe slot (which it should always be there) some motherboards will not let this fit.

Also good job at making assumptions with no benchmarks or tests to back it up.

Look on the sight, a cpu cooler this size will not effect the top pci-e lane, size becomes a problem with the extreme coolers but this cooler isnt much of a problem and also I blame the motherboard companies from not noticing this earlier and making it a standard that the top lane shouldnt be a 16x slot.

Anyways my assumption is an educated prediction, this cooler has a bigger fan and a larger heatsink, with modern technology, the hyper 212 is a old cooler, the hyper 212x will fair better againest this but from the information I currently have this cooler will beat the hyper 212 and 212x.

The top lane is a 16x slot because it communicates directly with the CPU. It is not possible to make the other PCIe lanes communicate directly to the CPU because of the wiring restrictions.

Also this will not kill the 212 evo because most of the 212 evo customers are in the US obviously, and there are better options than this for $45. If someone has only a $30 budget they will still be limited to the 212 evo if they live in america.

So basically it might bring the 212 sales down a little in europe, but it will definitely not be replacing it.

Case clearance is still a thing, you know.

So it's around the same size as the 212, interesting.

Though, if it does come out to be around 50us, there are better options so this thread is moot. :P
