Posted July 22, 2018 If Apple makes TVs, will you consider buying it. Lets say the TVs have the top of the line LG panels with Apple internals (Speakers, processors etc) and built in Apple TV. The TVs would probably cost more than the comparable LG TV. How much more would you mind paying for the Apple TV?
 Posted July 22, 2018 Depends on the price It has to be around the realm of what a high-end TV would usually cost, and it has to be every bit as competitive. Apple has a tremendous leg-up on most smart TVs with their ecosystem. But I also want the absolute best image quality they could muster. They can do it as seen by the excellent color accuracy on their computer displays and phones. That depends on whether they want to, however The Workhorse (AMD-powered custom desktop) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X | GPU: MSI X Trio GeForce RTX 2070S | RAM: XPG Spectrix D60G 32GB DDR4-3200 | Storage: 512GB XPG SX8200P + 2TB 7200RPM Seagate Barracuda Compute | OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro The Portable Workstation (Apple MacBook Pro 16" 2021) SoC: Apple M1 Max (8+2 core CPU w/ 32-core GPU) | RAM: 32GB unified LPDDR5 | Storage: 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD | OS: macOS Monterey The Communicator (Apple iPhone 13 Pro) SoC: Apple A15 Bionic | RAM: 6GB LPDDR4X | Storage: 128GB internal w/ NVMe controller | Display: 6.1" 2532x1170 "Super Retina XDR" OLED with VRR at up to 120Hz | OS: iOS 15.
 Posted July 22, 2018 No, it's going to be a regular TV with 250% of the price added on, it's going to force me to use Apple TV, and also force me to go back into the Apple ecosystem as a whole. I'd rather not go down the Apple rabbithole again. mechanical keyboard switches aficionado & hi-fi audio enthusiast switch reviews • how i lube mx-style keyboard switches
 Posted July 22, 2018 No, because itll be like everything else apple "makes"... they dont make anything. They stick an apple logo on foxconn made junk and charge a lot of money for junk. Id buy from the people who have been making their screens though: LG or Samsung. But ill probably alwsys have a Sony TV like i have since i was a kid in the 90s. My 2007 Bravia still has better colour(WCG-CCFL backlight and xvYCC) than most modern LCDs. Now that Sony is making OLED TVs i might consider getting one. You couldnt pay me to have an Apple TV. Posted July 22, 2018 I wouldn't buy one for the sole reason I have no real footprint in the Apple ecosystem. So it doesn't make sense to buy one. And I don't think anyone else would either, unless Apple discontinues the Apple TV entirely. And then few people would appreciate that. I have a blog! Posted July 22, 2018 I guess I'll elaborate on how I'd feel about it personally. Would I? If it were competitively priced, most likely. Again, Apple chooses fantastic displays for a lot of their shit, and if they did a smart TV with Apple TV integrated with it, it'd be one hell of a thing to consider. If it weren't? Probably not. If it's not worth its price tag, why buy it? Another thing would be deinterlacing quality. That matters a lot to me, and with someone who has a 2160p set downstairs that sucks at deinterlacing 480i content, I'd have a hard time determining if it would be worth the cash. If Apple could implement a Yadif deinterlacing filter rather than the really mediocre deinterlacing methods that most modern TVs have while still not having bad response times, it'd be one hell of a thing for me to think about. Posted July 22, 2018 Maybe I will buy an Apple TV, but it will depend on the reviews and price value. If it's too much from my expected price compared to other high-end TVs, probably Not. Also, most Televisions nowadays offers great resolution and performance that also offers free channels. So, right now I will consider buying normal TVs.
