Why buy a refurb phone when you can get a new Android phone for less?

Build quality,rugged? LMAO if you say so. Even after bendgate, touch failures and your phone being slowed down on purpose because still recommend overpriced iphones.

I have none of these issues. However, I do appreciate this kind of content because it’s very informative and constructive. I would like to see videos like these for Android phones. Android phones don’t get nearly as much criticism as Apple and they should. 

 

I used to buy cheap Chinese Android phones with awesome specs for the money. My last phone was the $200 Zuk Z2. It wasn’t a bad phone but the speakers and camera were mediocre at best. And the software was frankly terrible. After struggling, I finally managed to install a custom ROM. 

 

The iPhone 7 has a lot of qualities but Android fanboys/fangirls seem to forget that. I love the camera, performance and speakers the most. And apps just run better on iOS. $300 Android phones just feel slower and the speakers don’t come close.

That's who buys them, Apple fanboys with no tech knowledge and too much (of their parents) money.

There are plenty of us who are fully knowledgeable about technology who have iPhones.  And in many cases, we're buying them because we've done well enough in life that we can afford the phone we want, thank you.

 

With that said, fanpeople like that give a bad name to iPhone owners.  I'd rather be realistic and acknowledge that it's ultimately just another piece of technology, even if there are things I believe it does better (or are more to my tastes) than others.

The difference between a regular hold and a 3d touch is barely anything in my case. I'm not one to have a feather light touch on my keyboards and it translates to how I use my touch devices as well, so it's a tad annoying how easily it registers a 3d touch for me.

Honestly, no phone is worth over $1000. But it's also not really fair comparing iPhones and cheapo androids. Sure, these days $300 phones can perform like flagships of yesteryear but they don't have great camera, IPXX rating, good build quality and most importantly longevity where iPhones can easily last for about 4 years while android flagships do for 2 years and, forget budget ones

I dunno why ppl keep comparing to older low cost phones. Do Samsung flagship phones have the same ppl comparing the latest $900 Galaxy S9+ to a $300 previous year phone? The real comparison is that Apple users pay $100 premium to stay within the Apple ecosystem on the latest flagship phone.

Honestly at this point unless there is a radical change in how phones fundamentally work flagship smartphones are pretty much on par in terms of sheer functionality.  It just depends what ecosystem you want to work in and feel comfortable with.

No 3D Touch is a deal breaker. I use it a lot on my 6s Plus. 

 

Guess ill just not cheap out on the lower spec model!

Sheer functionality means different things to different people. One thing is certain: Snapchat is better on iOS. That is a massive deal. This might explain why iPhones are so popular despite their seemingly lower features for the price. 

 

Also, iMessage rocks and Google needs to catch up on that front.

My sisters iPhone 6 fell off a roller coaster from 200m and worked just fine after the fall. If that isn’t build quality then I don’t know what is.

People hate on them but they are only getting more popular and are some of the best selling smartphones

I have an iPhone 6 and an HTC 10, both of which I use heavily every day (separate work and home phones).


I have had the iPhone for nearly 4 years now. It runs just as well as it did when new and has never given me issues or trouble. I dislike a few things about its text input/editing and mail client, but on the whole, it does email, phone, navigation, and smart phone things well.

 

I have gone through two Android flagship phones during that time period. Both of them have slowed down with age and use, carriers keep updating and bloating them down, their batteries have worsened dramatically, and they keep having OS-level software issues that are maddeningly stupid, plus security updates just....stop being a thing.

 

I used to be an android fanboy. Then I owned both and used both side by side over a period of years. They both have issues but if I'm honest, the iPhone just works and keeps working. The androids do not last nearly as long in terms of software or hardware in my actual real-world experience. I just want my phone to work seamlessly and unobtrusively and I'm not getting that from the android phones anymore. The android phones, including my close friends', have become increasingly derpy as they age. The iPhone....still hasn't, at twice the age I've gotten from the other phones.

 

I'm heavily leaning towards buying an X or the X's successor and simplifying down to one phone. The iPhone has proven to me to be a superior product. I don't like a lot about using iOS, but I can't deny that fact.

 

But, y'know, I'm a fanboy and tech illiterate, spending my parents' money on a work tool as a grown adult, according to the peanut gallery.

Welp looks like the next Iphone I'll be getting (assuming my Iphone 6 doesn't kick the bucket before then). Really wanted to switch to Google Pixel, but alas, AT&T is the better provider where I live. :(

Ill probably be getting the lower end model one when it comes out or a RED 8, Ive never actually used 3DTouch on my 6s so a loss on that isnt that bad. As long as the front camera stays as good as it was on my 6s then Ill be sure to like it.
