The stream in the link works but this Chinese lady keeps talking so I cant hear a thing

If only my chinese vocab was large enough to understand xD. I don't understand most of the vocabulary related to technical stuff.

However, from what I gathered (and what I watched for like a minute) most of the stuff they're saying is on the slides.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

And make sure you do it by hitting the quote button at the bottom left of my post, and not the one inside the editor!

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

The embedded OP video is in English for me, as well. The version on the webpage, though, is in Chinese for me. There's an alternate English source here, if it helps anybody.

They're probably not going to release any info about GeForce Volta, but I'm still gonna watch it. It's still interesting to me even if you only understand half of the concept.

It's still the 16x V100 server though right? The old one was P100 based, unless this is another V100 server?

Yeah, they didn't announce any GeForce stuff (didn't expect them to), but all of their demos were pretty darn cool.

The DGX-2 and HGX-2 are very similar. Both are new products employing Volta hardware, and have 16 GPUs.

When Volta was released, the DGX-1 (8 GPUs in a proprietary form factor) and the DGX Station (4 PCIe add-in cards) were upgraded to Volta on all future units (and the Volta hardware is also available for upgrading existing units).

Yea but Nvidia has actually already shown off the Volta DGX-2 which is using the HGX-2 system, they are one in the same in reality. HGX-2 is the platform/motherboard and DGX-2 is the server made from it. Lenovo is also making a HGX-2 server, whatever they are going to call theirs.

Quote

The HGX-2 has achieved what Nvidia believes are record AI training speeds. According to an Nvidia statement, the GPU server can process 15,500 images per second on the ResNet-50 training benchmark, and is able to replace up to 300 CPU-only servers.

Server makers like Lenovo and manufacturers like Foxconn plan to bring HGX-2 based systems to market later this year. The announcement was made onstage today at Nvidia’s GTC Taiwan event.

The first system built using HGX-2 was the DGX-2, which made its debut at GTC in March.
