Same, it says I have the 397.31  installed, yet Geforce experience keeps asking me to install it (I did the clean install)
I also can't seem to select "home" in the Geforce panel, lol it truly is the Geforce Experience :D

I wouldn't care if it wasn't for the fact that I keep getting the DX11 version 10.0 error when i try to launch games... grrr

Random assortment of thoughts

  • This is why I don't update drivers just because. Unless the driver actually states it's improving a game significantly and it's a game I'm playing, or the driver is providing a huge feature update (like support for deferred contexts), I will assume the driver does nothing for performance.
  • Any software developer who's working with an open hardware platform can't possibly test every edge or corner case, and there's a lot of users out there with system configurations that I frankly think aren't necessary.

Actually that was all the thoughts I had.

Luckily I only update my drivers manually and every once in a blue moon.  I also always keep the old installers so I can always roll back to a previous version.

At least on Windows that is.  Never really paid attention to drivers on Linux because everything always just works.  I'm on 384 IIRC.  I'll do manual updates from now on too, to make sure I don't accidentally install the newer version.  At least until they clean up this mess.

I don't update because I can't even remember the last time I played a game.. Might've been The Fractured But Whole back last year sometime when I think back on it.

Damn almost forgot I have one of those in my laptop. Good thing I saw this.

It's not affecting everyone, but I wouldn't want to risk it.

This is why I rarely update.

I only do so when a game I'm playing gets optimized drivers. And even then, I don't buy that many new games lately.

I sure am glad there are companies out there with a perfect update record and product support.  It sure makes all those shitty derisory posts not look biased.  9_9

will do, I don't have a 1060 so can't test it out for that lol, but I'll keep my eye open.  Odd thing is though there seems to be a bug in these too where if Windows 10 is idle after a certain amount of time the driver goes missing lol.

I would say I'd take one for the team and test it out but I'm not that brave. Is that bug within the hotfix they just released?

There really is no difference man.  AMD has their share of bugs too.  Would be nice if there weren't any but that is the nature of the beast.

Yeah, it's just a matter of when not if a driver has bugs. Usually they're small though. Both teams have had some glaring issues within the last couple of years. I do believe Nvidia has had a few more very critical ones but that hardly signifies a trend. What matters is that it can be fixed and that it gets fixed quickly. I'd consider GPU destroying bugs a fair bit worse :-)
