That's not really old for this thread. A 1080 is still pretty current. If that was say a 580 then maybe.

Maybe it's the "mono" speaker setup ;o)

Huh? I mean if you think its cheap well... it is. But it does sound good since 2 speakers and a subwoofer are always good.

My family’s Old PC
All this stuff is Old as Heck

Top Left corner is the Graphics Card

Top Right corner is the Hard Drive

Under the Graphics Card is the Fan for the CPU

Under the Hard Drive is the Memory card

And the Motherboard is in the middle

I meant, you must get a really good soundstage with both speakers sitting side by side on top of the sub woofer lol

Oh no! He caught me. Anyways the reason why I do that is because I can put them apart due to cable length, its just that I had put most the cables nicely wrapped in the back. and you probably see where this is going. Also is having an intel Motherboard considered old? it has a Core 2 Quad Extreme and the name of it is INTEL-B975XBX?

Any Intel motherboard is not considered old (11th gen definitely isn't), and I don't speak for others here, but I do count LGA775 old.

it has six slots though right? 3 channel memory is like 3 sticks right?

RAM slots = RAM channels.

The CPU designates RAM channel count. I have a Ryzen 5 3600 with 2 RAM channels, and 4 RAM sticks. It runs in dual channel.

Someone could probably make an AM4 motherboard with 24 RAM slots. The RAM would still run in dual channel.

You can also have octo-channel RAM with 2 slots, etc.

Why don’t they have it anymore? That was the best type of memory configurations that I’ve heard of. Maybe quad channel but that’s for very high end ones. I still can’t believe intel went to 4 cores and 8 threads instead of 6 cores and 12 threads. Plus the socket they used LGA 1366 was for servers and high end users.

With DDR4's increase in bandwidth it wasn't beneficial most of the time anymore and it made the boards and CPU more expensive and difficult to produce. You need a lot more traces and contacts for 3 channel memory.

So do you guys know how to underclock it per say? What i mean is instead of tuning it in the ASUS BIOS for OC'ing, I wanna make it cooler and slower but not too slow.

I have a 120MM Rosewill Radiator with an ANTEC fan attached to it using MOLEX cables and it keeps its cool at 92F but can I get it lower? Plus my case has a fan on the side panel thats made for the GPU's and also maybe the Northbridge?

Makes sense but can you imagine though? 4000+Mhz RAM sticks and they're in triple channel providing the bandwidth of 50Gbps for each channel. that would be crazy alongside multiple GPU's. (I know SLI died years ago but my dual GTX 690 build says otherwise.)

Hey so what’s the most powerfulest cpu of LGA 1366 and LGA 771? I have a X5690 for the 1366 and the QX9775 for 771.

Those would be them. My X5690 E.S. only does 4800.. with 1.6v.. air cooled. I need some of that cold stuff ShrimpBrime has so I can see what she can really do.. The LN2 jumper is already enabled 😄
