Some of my old stuff.

C64 "The finale cartrigde" in the top left corner.
Everything is stuff i used back in the days except the Game&watch. Found that one at a recycle depot, and it was only missing the batteries.

My 2011 build: "Messiah VI". Asus M4A79XTD-Evo (a better looking board than my brand new Prime B450M IMO), Athlon II X4 640, 16gb Corsiar Vengeance 1600, MSI GTX 460. I was running this rig until it quit booting Windows 7 last Oct - which, if anyone knows what could cause an infinite reboot sequence every second, I'd be forever grateful! I'd love to fix this bad boy up for old time's sake. Hell, it was running War Thunder at 1080 on high settings getting close to 55 FPS! Note the GPU board sag after 10 years of hanging there. The case it's all in was actually manufactured in 2004. I'd rigged up a modded filter system but fine dust still got into the case over the years and I never got around to cleaning it.

I guess I'm biased into liking this since my sidepiece is based around an M4A77TD and an Athlon II X2 260. I reeeeeeeeally want to whack a 1055T and a better RAM setup in this thing, the ol' dually is straight up not having a fun time, and I ended up having to steal the 4GB stick from my XP board so some games would stop shitting pants (reeeeee 2x2 + 1x4 setup).

Anywhooser, old Asus boards sure do just have a certain charm to them, and the blue boards had a perfect color.

Oh this is an awesome thread xD.

Not sure how old counts for this, but I have a ZX Specturm and Commodore 64 back at home somewhere.

Probably relatively common ones on here though!

I was actually able to find an old Osbourne 1 at my grandpa's place. He, of course, never used it even though it was fully maxed out so its in near perfect condition. Im working on fixing it right now but i can try and get some images later

Two absolute rare beauties I found recently. 3dfx powered Arcade board, for Golden Tee. Also a sealed new, Japanese only V3 3000 minibox. It's so small compared to the normal US, and EU retail boxes!7499CAF6-1B6A-4CF8-98F0-C1EF26EEE4E8.thumb.jpeg.6287ea386fc18b6ee71fcb41da406d5a.jpegA468B8BF-4CE5-4501-BB4C-B2A201A8633D.thumb.jpg.5f093456f453f23e207a465e9dba7112.jpgE0879EF7-E4D9-4AEC-AC27-9DCFD616F247.thumb.jpg.a21fa74c1ad5d1d3efe98fa72fc28413.jpg8D16C286-6A54-46AD-B549-E7FFE9CE979B.thumb.jpg.57d629cfd0d34dbb13f774a1ed259166.jpg

Is there a Voodoo 5 6000 inside of that box? If so, that's amazing (even just having the box is amazing)! On a somewhat related note, people have created this really nice-looking black version of a V5 6000.

Yes, I own a V5 6000.

I also know Anthony that's making the new V5 6000 clones. 😉

Gotta love some old 3DFX. How'd you get a 5800 prototype...?

I'm a pal of a collector that specializes in only getting 3dfx prototypes. Bought one from him.

He has several rampage prototypes also, even a working one.

Any suggestions for a case for this though? should be "retro" but still have "good" airflow (i actually wanted to build in my old HP case, but its not going to fit as its matx) complete noob with this stuff , but i really want a good Vista or XP build with original hardware (i also have some athlon or phenom cpu, and somehow tons of RAM)

Btw, whats up with those scratches?  when i got it, it was still mounted so i suppose it "works"...

I think some of the older Cooler Master HAF cases would suit a retro system like the one you're planning to build. Sometimes, the IHS can get scratched when using a hard tool to remove crusty dried thermal paste--I know from experience that even some plastic tools are capable of damaging the surface finish. It shouldn't affect thermal performance, though.

I looked this up, they do look like they could have good airflow and are made around that time, but they're expensive, like 200 and up, is that normal, or just scam lol?  i did find one for 60 though , in what looks to be in good condition.

And i see, i figured something like that, so shouldn't be an issue, in my experience though IPA (+ demakeup pads or qtips) gets rid of the driest of thermal pastes, i cleaned the old cooler that came with this CPU that way for example, anyway thanks for the answer / suggestion !

Isopropyl alcohol is good for aftermarket thermal pastes. However, based on my experience, OEM thermal paste is significantly harder to remove sometimes--I repaste a lot of laptops and desktops, and sometimes the paste has hardened into a concrete-like substance that has to be slowly chipped off.

Ahaha, ok I dont have much experience with this, but i can imagine... when i removed my 2006(?) Athlon 64 the "paste" (original OEM) was the opposite though , it was like white water, or "milk" and basically non existent, it was quite bizarre lol.
