I have to say this is the first video where I could not watch past the intro. Dyson is overpriced garbage designed to look trendy while using the cheapest low quality plastic parts.

see below , very technical and detailed and honest review

I want a vacuum that is fucking bulletproof with money-no object.  I can't seem to find one that is actually well made.  Even Miele stuff gets "meh" reviews despite being top-dollar.  Oreck commercial seems decent but it's vacuum-only, no attachments which I need.

Dyson is very clearly cheap chinese shit that's riding on the brand name.

Yep.. after this stunt I may back off watching LTT even further. WAN show has become meh with it more of a floatplain push show, this video shows how awful product sponsorship videos can be and you have folks like GN and Level1Techs who actually provide very good information. Hardware Canucks is another that I am going to be pulling back from.. iJustine.. like, oh my god like I could never watch her. That Austin person, never could stand him before.

I can't actually believe LTT took money to do this. A very bad fit for the channel. Steve at GN is right to mock these videos. Dyson products are comparible to Apple imo. Overpriced, get the job done, but you could have done the same thing for a lot less... not all press is good press.

Edit

I would like to add that I didn't watch Linus's video yet, and I'm sure not as bad as people have been bitching about as so far they've been a lot more transparent and less shilly then people give them credit for, but this was a terrible fucking day for tech youtubers in general.

image.png.33cca48aec712df38c36e4ff2ae09920.png

That last one.

Fucking shameful.

Here's a couple more

Regardless of how transparent or less shilly the LTT video is (and I haven't seen it, it could be just as shilly) they are caught up in this mess now.

Taking part in a same day youtube assault? What in fuck were you guys thinking? Did you know this was planned?

On the whole, fucking shameful thing happened this week.

Fucking

Disgusting.

I'd say
"You're probably wondering why I'm reviewing a X. Because Y fucking paid me, and enough to say it's good"

I think after one I'd never get a sponsor again, but hey this is why I'm not a professional youtuber aside form looks and lack of personality

Nah, you can make it without looks or personality.

Edit: and no, of course we didn't know that everyone was going to go live at the same time, haha. In all the years we've been doing branded deals, no one has gone THIS ham on sponsoring literally every channel in a given vertical. It's far more typical for them to pick like..

So @LinusTech, I did just watch your video finally, and yea it's shilly of course, but it's not like morally wrong like a lot of this. And I think you're getting caught up in this giant ad blitz and lumped in. It ranges from more transparent things like LTT's video to just plain disgusting shit. And I feel like LTT will get just as much blame as all of the others. I think a lot of people we'rent prepared for how widespread it would be, so they did their normal not transparent shill crap and didn't expect it to be so obvious.

The second plant is in Hullavington, Wiltshire, wherever that is. Total investment is 2.5 billion pounds, hiring 400 engineers. First car scheduled for 2020. Can you imagine it? it's gonna be as noisy as their horrible vacuum cleaners. You'll hear it from kilometres away, "woooooooooozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz".... I'll never touch one of their cars. Ever. Nor vacuums.

this has probably cooled down so decided to add my crap to this. Are Dyson vacuums actually some how special or good ? i have never heard outside of ads anyone say a good thing about them. Also that vacuum starts at 500 dollars O.o i am starting to think that tech youtubers are some what losing touch with their audience, would some one actually in LTT audience buy a 500 dollar vacuum ? or would the buy, i dont know two 1tb SSD or a new CPU,mobo and RAM instead ? Coincidentally i am actually planning to buy a new vacuum and i have actually been looking at robot vacuums and good robot vacuums seem to cost pretty much around 500-600 euro range where that Dyson vacuum would probably be  :D

The general consensus is that while they are decent, they are not decent enough to warrant the price.

LOL!  A Dyson vacuum as the sponsor?  I remember NCIX's shift to strange products showing up in their store online and that was when things were going to hell.  Just sayin'. As for the new studio hey everybody wants a nice place to work but why did you need to tell people how much it cost? / rolls eyes
