Those are there because Bruce, our Shark branded robot vacuum, couldnt fit under the coffee table (by like 1/2" or 12mm) so i 3D printed those to raise it up just a little bit.

I run a torrent and I love it.  Great airflow, good design, and good build quality.  It keeps everything really cool.

My other case is a Silverstone Fortress 2.  Another great air cooling case.

I've been testing on the "Gaming - Power" plan and getting 3 to 3.5m on average. Granted it requires frequent input (every ~20 minutes), so that PPD is inflated. Realistically it's 2 to 2.5m for me (or lower if I'm AFK).

If you're willing to put in some work (clicking and such), it's not a terrible value proposition. Compared to buying a new setup, if you saved instead of the subscription ($50/month), it'd take a little over 3 years to get to $2,000 and 5 years for $3,000. Maybe using those dollar amounts is a bit liberal, but still, it's years before the break-even point.

Worth mentioning there is a risk of being banned at any point with essentially no recourse. Their terms specify that they can ban an account with no refund if they decide it isn't following their rules. This is not legal advice. I read somewhere that someone had contacted their support asking if folding is allowed. They said it was allowed but that their system could mistake it for mining and they were working to fix that. Seems like that might have happened or maybe my activity & metadata is keeping it out of the red (e.g. I'm starting their app from macOS which could be deemed a "more valid" use case).

Edit: I recently found that connecting via browser seems to have a longer timeout, at least when I use Arc browser. I'm not sure why that is. But still, trying to game this can get you banned.

It's insane what higher temps do to your average PPD... I re-mounted one of the blocks on my 4070s and the line immediately jumps back up!

... or a new mix of WUs have been released that perform slightly better ... I'd wait a week or so before passing judgement. I mean it's possible you might get one or 2 "bins" (15 or 30MHz) if folding at the default Power Target but I wouldn't expect to see that translate to a 2-5MPPD difference.

quite sure it was temp related, the 4070 that was not performing was running at almost 90 degrees because of a bad mount

Spectrum referred me to this thread - I have an AMD Epyc 7551 that I'd be happy to donate to someone that will use it purely for folding. I just can't afford the power (and motherboard) costs to fold myself currently but still want to help however I can. You can message me here or on discord (same name, SwiftDW)

Awesome gesture!

I might have a usecase for it, but i already have multiple EPYC systems up and running so if someone else wants to take this chance to get their server going i will gladly step aside.

They're doing it for rewards, or at least what they perceive as a reward. Doesn't look like it's going too well, though. https://www.solinscription.com/care-market/

This is the only way to offload the CARE tokens, but they would need a buyer and the buyer would need some utility for the tokens, which ATM doesn't seem to exist.
