Starting January 1st, 2021, we will be handing out awards based on new higher folding badge thresholds. These new values have been decided due to the increase of power a GPU can provide; this has made it much easier to achieve badges in recent years. Anyone holding a current badge will be grandfathered in! This means you won't have your badge downgraded after the new thresholds come into effect.    F@H Badge Thresholds In order to be rewarded with the Folding @ Home badge, please

There’s typically a google form you fill out in the event thread where you enter your LTT forum name as well as your folding name. Then, you just fold using that name for team LTT during the time period.

It's not there yet. Keep an eye on this thread and when registration is open there will be an announcement here.

i've been experimenting with F@H VMs on my TrueNAS Scale box. 

I got 48 physical cores to play with, but i want to leave 8 free for my NAS-duties. so 40 cores and 80 threads.

Just CPU folding here too, i don't have any GPU's in my NAS (yet!)

 

What would be the best course of action here? 1 VM with lots of threads that i can split up into lots of folding slots, or multiple small VMs with 8 cores or something that i can just run as-is? would the overhead of running multiple OS instances be a performance hog?

Each VM as well as each OS in each VM has an overhead.  Keeping that overhead minimal is likely best.

Is there not a max number to the number of cores it can run as one unit?
If my memory serves me right I think I hit my limit at 30/40 (CPU was not at 100% for 100% of the time)

I know it really doesn't matter but the fact that AMD just call their hardware "Navi XX" bores me... Bring back the new stars for new architecture

Sorry I missed the folding month event with you guys.  I just fired it back up a few weeks ago for the winter and probably could have joined the fun.  Ahh well, I'm doing well heating my loft again with my pc and moving up the charts.  Hope to see everyone at the top of the list.  🙂
