Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

How much is that in freedom currency?

That's pretty much normal over here.

I've just looked it up, a brand new RC F here in Portugal costs 124.200,00€.

The base price is 65.452,51€.

You pay 35.523,10€ of only taxes, plus 23.224,39€ of VAT.

But wait, there's worse.

Ford Mustang GT

Price: 96.662,24€

Base price: 34.353,59€

Taxes: 44.233,60€

VAT: 18.075,05€

It would be cheaper to buy one here brand new, put on a couple thousand miles so you don't have to pay new car import taxes, and mail it on a plane to your nearest airport.

Not really.

How much is a brand new Mustang GT on the US? I'll simulate importing one and you'll see it is 100% not worth it.

It costs you 39.015,29€ to import a car with a 4951cc that puts out 281g/Km (CO2)... It's ridiculous.

You'll still pay custom fees, the shipping of the car and all that shit, so, it isn't worth it anyway.

That's not the only thing Portugal is really bad at when it comes to cars. You can do literally zero to your car. Every single modification you do to your car is illegal. Of course, things like remaps, no one cares, but, if you have a turbo engine, I think you can do whatever the fuck you want with it as long as you don't mess up your emissions. Either they are similar / close to stock or you're straight up fucked.

Usually most countries have taxes on importing "new" cars that can be circumvented by just putting a couple thousand miles on it, which is pretty easy all things considered.

Unless Portugal is a special kind of stupid. :/

So long as it isn't anemic I don't care too much about what's inside it. Just so long as I get practical use out of it. That's up to you to decide though.
