You say data science and I'm thinking 1700 euros is too low for that. But maybe you can explain what type of workload you will be doing with it and how professional it is. If you're looking to utlize your GPU or CPU more and so on. technically for a proper data science PC you will need thereadripper and like 2x4090s or an RTX quadro with a ton of system RAM.

 

So technically you need lots of cores, lots of RTX and RAM. with 1700 euro you can build a sick gaming rig, but professional data science will need a much larger budget.

Too little info really.

 

Data science is EXTREMELLY broad you could potentially easily get by with like a ryzen 5600 and 32gb of ram or else 10x 4090's would be too little to even do 1% of your work.

 

Im doing a shitton of seeq/powerbi/mysql stuff on an i5 32gb dell ultrabook from 3 years ago and it is ok for example.

 

We need context here and where the current pc is lacking.
