Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

honestly idc about the fender all i care about is that it's a manual wagon with loaded features like heated power leather seats, sunroof, and a turbo 4.

So get a 9-5. I have heated leather seats, a sunroof, turbo 4, memory seats, heated rear seats. The list goes in.

Colin's Miata looks soooooooo good.

@bcredeur97 have you thought of getting a "Bikini top" like he has in the last 2 photos? I'm not sure if that's the real name but that's what he's always called it.

@MEC-777 do you know if the cherry bomb  glasspack mufflers are any good? because i saw them for like 35 bucks at autozone and i thought that was pretty cheap for a muffler. if they are, how good are they compared to the vortex?

Glasspacks are typically more like a resonator than a muffler.

They don't "muffle" very well. Best used with more than one

Resonators dont have anything inside it to muffle sound. Glass packs are mufflers just usually in a cylindrical straight shape. Only muffler that doesnt use fiberglass to mufle sound in chokemasters.....I mean flow master exhaust.

This is true, but Glasspacks (cheap ones especially) are super prone to blowing out. Which then kinda makes it a resonator / test pipe

Build and mod your car for your own enjoyment. Not for resale value.

That's my plan. And why my list is so long of mods. Because at the end of the day. It's an extension of me. My money, my transportation. If other people like it, good. But as long as I'm not a ricer I'm happy.

Current list

  • Exhaust
  • Intake post MAF
  • Bigger intercooler
  • Pistons
  • Cams
  • Injectors
  • E85 Capable Fuel Pump
  • Strut bar
  • Coilovers
  • Wheels / tires
  • Window tints
  • Steering wheel
  • Subs / speakers
  • Mustang Mach 1 Front Lip
  • Roofrack cross bars
  • Add some gauges
  • Yellow fog lights / yellow vinyl on fog light housings (not sure which yet)
  • Different front grill
  • Aero Spec rear wing
  • Better sounding horns
  • Custom tuning

That's not even the whole list. Will my car be more valuable in the end? To me, yes. To just about anyone else, no.

Cars are a passion of love, and if you're in it for the profit open a shop.

There are no real performance mods though. What he did was butcher the fenders and put shitty wheels on. I think an exhaust system, tints, and possibly nice coil-overs can increase value but not that. Not to mention the sketch tune on a mid-high mile subie.

System: Thinkpad T460

Follows the same kind of logic like not driving your car for resale is like not having sex with your girlfriend for the next guy. Mods dump value anyways because the people putting them on usually have no idea what they're doing and are generally making the vehicle worse.
