No no no, not how I roll. I will be using riv-nuts with stainless steel hardware. Gonna cut the fenders with care too, these fenders in this condition are actually quite rare on a MK1 since they are so rust free.

I can imagine. I live 20mins from the city where Nokia's factory etc. pretty much everything besides the HQ was located. That place isn't doing all that well these days. It has yet to recover.

A friend of mine has the s40 t4, I don't know which engine it has though. 

Its not as nice as I'd expect from a Volvo, but it is after all half mitsubishi. But damn is pretty quick for what it is.

Oh, you have no idea. Spoiler will be red, front bumper will be red. Side skirts will be red. Side mirrors will be red, but only the mirror caps, not the whole thing like you edited.

AFAIK the performence vtec(mostly used in B series and K series motors), was quite sudden and at a certain RPM the car suddenly had more power, the economy vtec is the boring one that, that felt like the car just kept climbing in rpm

the T4 is the 200hp 1.9l (B4194T), the 2.0T is the 160hp 2.0l (B4204T/T2/T3/T4 depending on the model year) 

honestly, since its not made in sweden .... its not 100% volvo also as you stated its like 50% Mitsubishi Carisma since it uses the same platform as that car, one of the available 1.8 engines for it actually is a mitsubishi one :D 

how i see it, a better looking and more luxurious Mitsubishi Carisma and i like it :D

- fluid flush (transmission (again), coolant) 

- new rad and hoses (mixed coolant) 

- possibly new seals

- new rotors because they're nearly gone anyways

- new pads but these are under warranty

 

But at last the shifter ain't seized?

The pic in the post you quoted has fender flares, side skirts and a beefy front lip and it's also on an incline if you look in the photo.

 

Once I have those on it will look a lot lower. Right now with just the bare car like it is it looks kind of like a go kart. But I can tell you that the frame rails are about 2-3" off the ground.
