Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

i chose the good drivetrain

yeah .. any cheap car will bite me in the ass .. but i will get an ok car eventually xD

I'd choose drivetrain as well right now.

A body is easy to fix. Some sheet metal and a welder + some rattle cans

Whereas the engine is just most likely expensive.

Pretty much xD

I'd probably spend a minimum of €2,000 whenever buying a used car.

I'd set my minimum at about there too.

My next car will be somewhere in that area.

And then i'll try to put away some cash every month so that if anything breaks i can upgrade it

You pretty much always want to have at least some "when shit hits the fan"-money. I see myself as totally broke if I have anything less than €1,000.

Borrowing money is the worst. The only time I have had to do it myself was for the car, which I paid back within the next few months. I had €4,500 at the time, and I borrowed another €1,000 (car was €5,000). Only borrowed so that I had extra because I knew that I had to pay some extra stuff when buying the car, and the extra €500 would let me survive until payday without sweating.

Borrowing money is awful.. Owing someone sucks ass.

Funnily enough i've never actually taken out a loan.

Unless you count the car i'm currently driving that i pay for every month. Just 47 payments to go.. Egh..

My next car will be all mine though. Paid for when i buy it instead of for five years after i buy it..

if you want something cheaper than that, you're probably gonna have to buy parts for it to get it working again.

But toyota themselves have nothing but the GT86. Plus the proper sporty lexus's are ridiculously expensive

My main problems with Toyota is that they are numb and I think with modern aesthetics they look terrible. Even Mazda made a good handling crossover (CX3), and they don't need to plaster CVTs all over their fleet to achieve decent MPG.

What a night. I'm bloody exhausted and I only shot ~40% of the cars that showed up. Could have gotten more but was watching Civil War just before the premeet, then lost track of time shooting features on a few cars. Chatted up a few nice gals, but its bloody chilly and I really just wanted to focus on shooting. Night was fading fast, and correcting for low-light in post is a PITA that I avoid for big shows as much as possible.

Anyways, @MEC-777 if you're ever in the area (Vaughan) tuesday nights make sure you get here EARLY because 2 hours after gates open till close (~10PM), the queue to get in slows to a crawl.

On to the meat and potates - I risked my life to get some of these shots for y'all, and nearly got run over a few times. There was an entire row of Mustangs parked up and I really didn't want to chance it beyond that.
