Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Far too many people neglect the braking performance when modding their cars.

"Yeah, it's a 1985 with a swapped engine, making 600 horse" - With no suspension, braking, or tires changed.

Getting half an hour is actually really good. If you watch some of Matt Farah's drives, then you'll see that people who are running stock pads and everything gets fade within 5 minutes of canyon driving.

when i get a car ... one of the 1st mods will be bigger brakes and braided break lines with more performance orientated pads ... xD

then wheels and tires .... and then suspension ... and then ill look at the power xD

Probably one of the best mods you can do to any car.

IMHO. Tires, Brakes, and Suspension should come before any other modifications (as long as the engine is running well, that is)

Yup. Ran fine.

Even had the 960 half leather seats in it which are almost american levels of comfortable.

But it was pretty rusty and the springs were cut so that brought the price down

I know.. The thing was awful.

This is what 450 euros will get you in sweden

XO11X3G.jpg

With about 450 euros worth of these hanging from the mirror and rear window

Another amazing thing was that it still had the gas cap cover on it. They are notorious for falling off

Gas gauge was dead though. Which is pretty much standard on pre 2005 volvos

€500 is enough to get a car that works. It's just a question of how well xD

At 500 you almost have to choose between good drivetrain or solid body.

The sender unit in the gas tank is the cause of the problem 98.99% of the time.

A cheap E36 will most likely bite you in the arse down the line.

Pretty much xD

I'd probably spend a minimum of €2,000 whenever buying a used car.
