Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Oooo! The 2018 Mustang GTs will be 460hp and do 0-60 in under 4 seconds, according to Ford. I get that the autos are faster, but I'd still buy the manual.

For 2018, the Mustang gets all sorts of welcome improvements. We're especially excited that the GT Performance Package will get magnetic dampers similar to those on the GT350, and sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires.

Also the Performance Pack will get the magnetic suspension out of the GT350s. Much goodness.

Seems the Ecoboost gets more boost too.

Yay so now instead of blowing the engine by tuning it yourself, it comes pretuned for optimized rod-throwing FROM THE FACTORY :D

The GT is really the only mustang to buy.

I never understood why people got all excited about the ecoboost mustangs, but I have trouble blaming ford for people blowing up their engines after they tuned them. Poor tunes are always incredibly dangerous.

Yeah. I'm just iffy about that 2.3 though... Always have been. It's cursed lol

But give me a 2018 GT with a manual with the performance pack and that's a pretty fun track car :)

That said I wouldn't spend that much on a track car... At least not out of the box

Drag mode sounds analogous to "sport mode" in most auto cars, and autos are almost always faster 0-60 these days.

Out of these two which do you guys think is overall a better package?

2014-2015 Impala LS/1LT

or

2013-2015 Optima LX/EX

I guess I would add a third option if that was an option and say 2016-2017 Malibu Premier. But that's too expensive lol.

I guess for practicality and cost the 2013-2015 Optimas win. I almost feel the base Optima has more features than the base Impala. I'm probably wrong though lol.

what about a mazda 6? better looking car, and probably more loaded for the price than those two, and potentially more reliable. oh, and a much more fun fwd car than those two.

Yeah that's factory. Current Mustang GTs are 435hp, and current GT350s are 526hp.

If you believe motortrend the new 2019 GT500 will be 680hp from the same 5L coyote with a supercharger.

gt500? why wasn't it introduced with the current generation a couple years back? but is this basically the camaro zl1 direct competitor i guess? because power figures are kinda similar.

The same reason Dodge didn't introduce the Demon alongside the Hellcat; it doesn't make a lot of sense from a marketing perspective, and they want to improve on the current halo car.

Sounds like a competitor to the ZL1 and Hellcat to me.

well it's less directly a hellcat competitor because unlike the hellcat, the camaro and mustang can actually handle corners (sorry if i offend anyone), so the camaro and mustang to me are the most direct competitors, but i wonder which one out of the three is the best.

As for around a track? I'd put my money on the ZL1

well if the gt500 also has magnetic suspension, it could be pretty even. but i'm assuming the gt500 might be lighter, so my money's on the gt500.

motor tend (road track?) did a side by side (I think these were the base models or the hellcat/Zl1/GT500 models I'm not sure) but I think the GT500 edged out the ZL1 overall and the hellcat was sluggish because it couldnt handle the turns as well. Again, this was back in 2015 maybe, much has probably changed since then.

Well it seems the value goes down as quickly as a Kia, so a 2015 Mazda6 costs about the same as a 2015 Optima.

But... 나의 아름다운 한국 자동차

나의 아름다운 한국 자동차 should roughly mean My beautiful Korean cars. I've spent maybe 20 minutes learning the Korean alphabet because I got bored one day and now I love the concept.

you mean gt350? because gt500 wasn't introduced with the new generation. and the gt350 couldn't exactly directly compete with the others since it was still a naturally aspirated motor, albeit a high revving one.

but i think you're getting more for the money. skyactiv motor, so better mpgs, and usually interior quality is better and i think more refined than the optima.

I spent 4 years in school learning French. I wasn't really in the mood to play video games and some reason I thought it would be neat to see how hard learning Korean would be and then I had seen a video that talked about it's alphabet and some of it's history and why it's possibly the best and easiest language in the world because of that.

Maybe it was the base models then. I only remember the mustang edged out the camero and the charger was nowhere to be found at the finish line

I do contend it seems that while the 2015 Optima I think was using decent quality materials to begin with the Mazda might have better materials. I could definitely get a better infotainment screen (Optima LX/EX vs Mazda6 i Touring/i Sport)
