But keep in mind in 2008 using Windows ME (it barely ran XP, althrough last 3 months it did) isn't .. ideal. Anyhow, it lasted me a short while. Posted February 28, 2018 I'm not a fully fledged adult, so I never actually bought and installed old 10 gig drives sadly. My first would be an external hard drive I bought to boot Linux on. Other than that I guess the first drive I took apart was one from an HP machine I believe back when I was 8 or 10. Posted February 28, 2018 Whatever came as standard in a PowerMac G3/233 desktop around 1999, 4GB IIRC. I replaced it with a Quantum Fireball AS 40GB. When I started secondary school one of the Mac Plus machines had a 20MB hard drive (that was the same footprint as the base of the machine so you could stack the Mac on top).
