Advancement stems from necessity, of which there is none here. Discovery often comes from failure to meet that necessity or observations when applying that advancement.

Developed from the same technology as WWII era radar after observation of what close contact resulted in. Not a rich guy unknowingly (hopefully) trying to push a mission that will ultimately just end a few dozen lives, and companies looking for a PR move.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

They're saying "mobile", but my guess is it's intended to be a relay point more than anything else. It's also easier to put high-powered antennas above the surface & not needing to absorb landing.

I think you missed what I was trying to say....

The microwave was discovered as an accident of expirimenting with radar. Practical use out of something that was kind of eh, maybe we can use it at the time.

Bottom line, there's going to be stuff learned from this project. And I'm 100% down with that.

Yeah, I would put money on the fact theres not going to be deaths. That's probably the worst publicity you could get so those are counter statements anyway.

Fanboys are the worst thing to happen to the tech community World. Chief among them are Apple fanboys.

When you realize that cell service and the Internet are higher on the priority list than humans are.

I don't see people living there though. Why would someone who only went there to collect samples need wifi?

We need millenials on the moon, so they can start pressuring the industry into fulfilling their needs up there. Only then will we get wifi, gyms and starbucks on the moon.

You don't send people before you develop and deploy technology to support them.

establishing a link is the first step, then bring automated base, and supplies, then people.

This sound like it will be a more reliable connection back to earth that can be used for any future missions to the moon.

Even folks on the moon need to have the ability to jack it to a buxom blond babe every once in awhile.

Sign up with Verizon Lunar.. it's outta this world!

Maybe Linus can do a video about how flagship (spaceship) phones would hold up in the vacuum and drastic heat and cold temps in space. I wonder if the glass just shatters from the expansion.

Ooooh, does this mean that when its up, they can start sending cameras up there and stream 24/7? I wouldn't mind a feature like that, similar to watching the earth from space using google.

Send Linus to the moon to drop his phone connection. See what happens.

This is all obviously fake. The earth is flat with a dome around it and water above the dome    ( which is why the sky is blue, the atmosphere is a lie made up by NASA ). Furthermore, the moon is a hologram created by the Aztecs and Mayans, with a giant projector provided by the aliens above the dome. Also, all cellular networks are actually brodcast by your microwave ovens and all cellular networks are owned by the NSA to spy on people.

THE PROOF IS HERE! WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!!!!!!111!!!1!!!1!

Isn't the Deep Space network open to the public with permission? Can't you just send the stream via it?

I always wondered why they never placed a huge radio relay on the moon surface already.

This is really weird, I can see why they're doing it, for a private funded moon mission, but a mobile network? Really? Like, I guess people wanna live stream being off the planet? Maybe.

If you look at the other companies involved it makes more sense. Audi and PTScientists are developing a Moon rover that's also supposed to stream live Video from the moon. But the rover wouldn't be able to connect to earth while moving. So the plan is to build a stationary Antenna, thereby establishing the first mobile network on the moon, and have the rover connect to that. If you want to know more, check out this video:

I think it all sounds pretty awesome what they're doing...
