YouTube flagged an official Google Chromebook ad as spam

Yesterday YouTube automated algorithm decided to flag and block their own parent company video ad for the new Chromebook Pixel.

This just shows how much out of control YouTube as a company, when they are getting to the point of screwing themselves with these recent, very aggressive, algorithm changes all because of big advertisers.

I believe there were way better forms of dealing with the situation, but now having signs of big companies from Hollywood and Tv invading YouTube, will it ever recover? 

 

This just solidifies my ideia of Floatplane being the future alternative for creators. 

A plataform built from the ground up from creators to creators, something LinusMediaGroup doesn't seem to aggre at this point in time. Clearly loosing a big big chance here.

I'm not surprised. After seeing gory videos remaining monetized while curse words cause demonetization, I'm not surprised they flagged their own ad. 

 

Also, Chrome OS might as well be deleted by any anti-virus software.

YouTube is just a few steps away from becoming self-conscious and uploading itself to a fleet of google cars.

I've been using youtube since 2005 and I can indeed confirm that it still is a clusterf**k. Still the best video site out there though.

Edit; How to fix youtube:
1. Remove comment system
2. Differentiate between users and channels.
3. Implement two ad-tiers: family friendly & explicit.

It's the best because its the only structured vod site. 

 

The only way to fix youtube is competition. Until then they will continue not giving a crap about thier creators.

Then I think it would be better to have as a point to improve it, not remove it, since you can just choose to not go there if you don't like it. I like to read a few comments every now and then, especially if it's a good video.

I have another solution:

 

1. Just fucking go to Twitch. Yes I know it lacks VoD content just chill, watch some games in the meantime, youtubers are coming, at a fairly fast pace.

Unfortunately not everyone has the luxury of wasting large amounts of time watching streams.

It’s so broken. I did some tests and it said a 3 second video of the plane in PUBG titled PUBG wasn’t advertiser friendly. I then took naked Barbie dolls and cut their heads off and strapped them to RC cars and drove them around sadistically and named it Barbies Get Beheaded and it didn’t flag it.
