Budget (including currency): ~$1,000 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming/Streaming

Howdy, folks. I've been asked to put together a recommended part list for ~$1k gaming/streaming build for a friend of a friend. No peripherals or monitors are needed. I'm not sure what specific games are going to be played, but am trying to get the best configuration for the budget. Here is what I came up with so far: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9t2vGP

I went with an NVIDIA GPU over AMD because they're planning on streaming. Figured it'd be better to stick with NVENC at this point in time. I thought about going with a 3070 over the 4070, but for the price difference it didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense to me.

Please let me know your thoughts and if you think anything is worth tweaking. Thanks!

Just make sure you have a realistic talk with them about how much of a horrible idea it is to get into streaming. Build a machine to game with to play with friends, if they are just starting out, streaming is just not worth it at this point unless they know other streamers.

RAM you need 32 GB at minimum for streaming to go smoothly.

Id honestly look at getting a used GPU, like a 3080 or 3070ti. 4070 for 550$ is still pretty rough.

Do keep in mind the 9000 series of AMD Cpus will be announced soon, so potentially discounts will be had for the 7000 series 🙂 Or if they have a microcenter near them.

Other then that, unless they want to go the pre-built route its mostly about finding good deals. https://slickdeals.net/f/17378550-abs-cyclone-aqua-gaming-pc-intel-i5-13400f-geforce-rtx-4060-ti-32gb-ddr4-1tb-ssd-930-free-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

2 fatal flaws with the build being the trash board and 16gb of extremely slow ddr5 but you do atleast have the right idea of spending a decent chunk of the build on the gpu just need to work on the excecution abit

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZzhCQP

7700x + 4070 + 32gb 6000c32

microcenter 7700x bundle covers the cpu mobo and rams

this is the best i can do all new and you really should buy a used 3080(ti) around 350$ which saves lots of money on the gpu whilst seeing next to no drop in performance and allows some other upgrades, and yes you can haggle prices down abit more

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/J7MjMV

upgraded to 7800x3d with the microcenter 7800x3d bundle

upgraded psu to an 850w gold with a 10 year warranty

cut cost by 55$ and keep in mind that you can haggle pricing on the gpu even on a good deal

heres some benchmarks comparing the 4070 to the 3080 and theyre basically neck and neck so save the 200$+ on the gpu
