Nvidia releases a PC Gaming Revival Kit-a very interesting idea

So, as you might know, Nvidia is selling and producing graphics cards/accelerators. But what happens when they partner with Corsair, a PC component and accesory company?

 

The PC Gaming Revival Kit gets born.

 

So what does this 400€ Santa gift contain? Well, it contains a GTX 1060, a Corsair LE 240GB SSD, and, to ensure that you have juice to power all of the goodies, it comes with a Corsair CX 430W PSU.

It also comes with Gears of War 4 code as a neat bonus.

 

I have to say that, with the New Year coming, they released this at right time. Bravo Nvidia and Corsair.

I laughed when I saw the Corsair LE SSD. That thing will likely need an RMA by June.

Huh.  Interesting idea.  Only problem is...the Corsair SSD will be an immediate deterrent to some people.  PSU is good though.

If that's true, then the user can upgrade to a 1080 in the future and still be fine in terms of PSU quality. @M8than the CXx50m line is actually quite good.

The problem for most is not having compatible hardware, like say a SATA port or even some people without compatible PCI-E slots. Or that don't know how to dot he upgrade themselves. Those that CAN do will likely buy the components themselves and will probably buy better components too. Unless this showed value for money, then I don't see the market for this.

Well it's about as good as a Seasonic S12II so it's perfectly fine for a 1060.

Absolutely!  Corsair CXx50M power supplies are arguably some of the most reliable PSUs ever made.  Having said that, both Corsair and EVGA make great PSUs.

Not really, some can and will still fail, and some other models are more reliable/have better internal components. Also, both Corsair and EVGA brand some absolutely terrible PSUs.

This would have been a neat idea if there were actual savings involved, and 1/3 components in the box weren't atrocious garbage with one of the other being just "meh"

It just looks like the normal prices of everything. I'd expect to have at least a little discount if I were to buy a kit like this.

I wouldn't mind a basic kit for new PC gamers targeting OEM PCs including an entry SSD, a GTX 1050 TI, SATA and HDMI/DP cables, Win 10 on usb (installed with the pre-existing product key on the desktop) to install to the SSD, screwdriver and perhaps an LED strip or some other aesthetic goodies, or for extra expense, even included peripherals. The only official requirement being the PCI-E slot. 

 

The Nvidia Starter package for new those new to PC gaming.

I like the idea but I don't see it working out too well. I feel like the target audience isn't confident enough in their ability to install a new PSU, GPU, and SSD. I feel like it's the same people who get angered over their inability to perform an SSD migration so they either return the SSD or pay the Geeksquad.

If it's a CX450M then it's halfway decent but if it's a CX430 it isn't worth it
