i'm between bitfenix formula gold 550m,be quiet power 10 500w and corsair tx550m.The cheapest is the be quiet at 77$ and the other two are 95-100$(same goes for earthwatts).Which is the best?Sorry for the bother

Formula Gold is the best of those as its reasonably priced and has rather low fan RPM - comparable with the Pure Power 10.

The Pure Power 10 has the best fan and is OKish in electrical performance, the Bitfenix is just better...

The Corsair is comparable to the Bitfenix, lacks the aditional 2  Rails and has a rather loud fan/high RPM...

The Pure Power 10 should be fine. The Focus Plus is considered higher end than the others, so it's probably the best value among the $100 ones.

TDP is not the same as power draw, just want to make that distinction. NVIDIA recommends a 500W PSU, which means you'd probably be ok with a 450, depending on your CPU and if you're overclocking or not.

4 hours ago, seon123 said:

The TDP is the limit of how much heat the card produces at stock. All of that heat comes from the power draw, and there is nothing else to draw a significant amount of power. Meaning power draw for Pascal = TDP. Which is confirmed by reviewers.

Noone gives a damn about Nvidia's PSU recommendation, as it's a worst case scenario, with a garbage PSU.

EVGA G3 doesn't have a properly configured OPP

though I don't think many will be affected by this, it's a shame that such a high-end unit have that problem.

Besides, the 650G3 and 850W are fairly loud

Seasonic S12II 620W and below is an entry level unit, comparable to Cooler Master Master Watt Lite or Corsair VS. With a bit of Lipstick put on it (Wapanese capacitors). but those are actually BETTER than the S12II or M12II.

As they actually have working protection, the Seasonic does not.

Lol why do you call them WAPANESE capacitors?

They are 08/15 as a German would say...

Wich is Standard or less than that.

And thus other options are better for the same money...

The EVGA units don't bring anything new to the table that is interesting or distinguishes them from the competition. Hell even the Original Leadex (II) brings more to the table -> universal 9pin connectors and LED lighting for those.

Wannabe Japanese because they are still made in China due to the Chinese Import tax.

And it doesn't matter at all for the quality of the PSU, its at most the icing on the cake.

Everything else is more important and should come before the caps.

You want/need an independantly regulated unit with a nice fan and all protections we have today (OCP on minor rails, OTP, UVP on +12V and so on) before "nice caps".

so the Question for you is:

Would you prefer a Xilence Performance X wich looks like that:

https://img.tweakpc.de/image/dsc-4720-custom.dQt

Or would you rather have a Seasonic S12II Bronze based unit.

So what I'm saying is that caps are overrated and it depends on the design, layout and you'd want other things first anyway.

Though the Performance X uses a couple of Japanese made caps in my case as far as I can see it. Those Polymers seems to be Nichicon...

What frequency the PSU operates the caps at, how much airflow there is to the capacitors, how hot the area is, etc.
