Trial on Tatooine is a Star Wars game where you are physically immersed in the action because it's a virtual reality game and you directly control your weapons through your movements with a controller (kinda like a wii but for the HTC vive), even a light saber :o:x. This game makes you the hero in star wars.

This game is developed for the HTV Vive coming out. The Vive will be sold at a retail price of $799.

It looks simply amazing. Tracking of the controller has come much further it seems and should work better then ever. This is part of the future of gaming. Everyone will eventually have a VR (and also probably an AR) headset.

Looks fun, but is definitely not the Star Wars Game I am looking for.

 

KoToR 3 (re-conning SWTOR entirely. Revan was a conqueror, not a pussy) or GTFO.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

"A cinematic virtual reality experiment" ... Doesn't sounds like a game to me. Pretty sure you'll be in static position anyway. So it's like Time Crisis but with a lightsaber ? Don't want to sound too pessimist but I'll keep my expectation low... like to no expectation at all.

This will mostly resonate with the 40-somethings if there are any around here (besides me).  You need to use your imagination for this, but just picture one of the 'space' sim games taking up this challenge with the folks at Disney:

You flip another switch on your throttle and those "jet" engines to the left and right of you power up.  They don't sound like the jet engines you've heard before.  You push the throttle stick forward to goose the engines a bit, and the fighter ship you're in hovers up slowly from the ground.  Now that the retro-rockets have done their job and the ship is off the ground, you snick yet another switch on the throttle and suddenly the ship lurches forward like it's been kicked in the ass.  You're airborne and moving quite fast.  The planet's atmosphere passes you by in a blink, and you're in the deep, dark of space.

 

There are ships just like yours surrounding you.  You're in a flight group.  Each of the pilots calls out their name and that they're ready.  Just as you see the threat and target up ahead of you: a metallic moon-sized battle station, your comm cracks to life again with the unforgettable command:

 

"Lock S-foils in attack position!"

 

You flip a final switch on your throttle and watch to the left and right of you as your craft's wings split apart into an.... X

 

A large turbo laser bolt snaps you from your reverie and focuses your attention on the task at hand.  You bank the ship hard to the left as another bolt rockets past you.  They're moving fast, but they're so large that it seems like they cover the length of your ship for seconds.  Another, then another, then another.  All missing you.  All intended for ships 3-5 times your size.  You're way too hard to hit.

 

You roll your ship and then dive hard towards the surface of this metallic menace.  Across its equator, you see your destination:

 

Trench run in VR!

Could you just imagine how much fun that'd be in VR?  Jesus I'd be lost for hours and hours, replaying it over and over.

Someone needs to make a super colourful and eye pleasing planet we can discover with VR for me to get hyped. 

 

Would love to play an FPS with proper gun prop to hold and get feedback when shooting from it. Even if it was a stationary shooter. An old snowball fight woud be so much fun :D if someone was to make such game for VR with lvls and such (shellshock is fun).

Honestly, after i saw the stunning graphics of the Frostbite 3 engine in SW Battlefront.... If these upcoming VR SW games cannot match Frostbite 3 quality, they wont be worth playing.

 

I want to immerse myself in a visually stunning and trustworthy world. Not just wave my arms around. If that is what i wanted to do i would buy a Wii and strap a 17" display to my face

It could be similar to those games at arcades that you acutally have a gun to shoot at stuff and a lever by your foot that when you press down you pop out from your hidding spot to shoot the targets.

You may be stationary but it could still be a ton of fun like those arcade games.

This is the first time these VR head sets are sold to individuals and some of the first games. You can't expect the greatest quality of graphics off the bat especially for how hard it is to run these types of games at a pretty high pixel density and refresh rate.

I always do a minimum of two playthroughs. The first one is Lightside (I generally try to play the "Canon" ending first, if I know which character is Canon - eg: Male vs Female). Then I play a darkside playthrough next. I generally try to max out each playthrough - so if I go dark, I'm an evil prick.

Oh but going Darkside, especially in KOTOR I and II is soooo fun. It's kind of hilarious some of the options you get.

Plus, Darkside offensive powers are dank OP. Force Storm when you have are class 20 (KOTOR I), with a maxed out Wisdom stat, is ridiculous. When I did my darkside run in KOTOR I, I literally killed Malak in like, 30 seconds - and it would have been faster if you didn't have to run around destroying those tanks of Jedi.

Still cant do it, its kinda funny but mostly its cringey, i just really enjoy being the good guy :D
