My system could handle it no problem. However, I will wait for a second generation of VR products or at least until it's more widely adopted.

GTX 780  :(

A 970 is just as powerful as a 780

Even if my PC could "handle" VR, I doubt it would be at max setting 90+fps, even the recommended specs.

That said, too expensive for me. At nearly $1k canadian rupees, it's just too much for me.

And then the price of Playstation VR was leaked and it's apparently $800 US... like, if it's true, what were they thinking. That thing is supposed to run on the PS4, which is essentially a potato compared to the specs required by the Oculus, how can they possibly justify this thing being more than double the price of the PS4 itself...

Got a 980 and 4790k so could run it, not sure I'd want to though. I'd have to have a few hours demo at a store at least before I'd get one.

I can handle it, sure. I intend to wait a year or two though for not only the price to come down, but to see if oculus is really the one to buy or if the Vive or some other one turns out to be the best one. VR seems really cool at this point, but I can't justify throwing the money at it just yet.

I have 7970 GHz edition and 3570k, and I am probably going to get Oculus. I just have to turn down some settings. (not the resolution ofcorse)

they are RECOMENDED specs after all, not minimum. 7970 GHz does BF4 at Max settings (1920x1200) and not go under 55 fps, so it should work just fine.

By the time I get another r9 380 I'd rather get a gtx 980ti second hand
