Why in the name of fuck is my Phanteks Enthoo Pro M being shipped from California when I ordered it on Newegg.ca?

What does .ca mean? Does it not stand for Canada, does it mean .california to Newegg?

No wonder shipping is 20 fucking dollars, it shows it's at LAX. I'm paying for this shit to be flown to me apparently. I chose the cheapest option which was $20 "Ground Shipping"

I contacted Newegg to ask them wtf is going on and they gave me $10 off my shipping, but strangely wouldn't comment on whether or not my case was getting on a plane at LAX.

I paid for ground shipping yet it says it departed from LAX, I'll hope that means it's on a plane, why else would it be at an airport?

TIL Ground Shipping from Newegg.ca gets you Air Shipping from USA, and asking what the hell is going on gets you 50% off shipping.

How is this an issue? If it gets there on time and in shape it isn't. Just means they didn't have any in their Canadian warehouses.

They dont have any warehouses outside of the USA

All their items come from their US warehouses

LAX I believe is also a shipping hub in general

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Well obviously, but what is the point of Newegg.ca saying it has it in stock? It's not in stock in Canada.

Newegg has warehouses in Canada, which don't have what I ordered in stock.

I'm going to be pissed if it's not on a plane, because do you know how long ground shipping across half of North America takes? And how much more likely damage is to occur with how much further it has to travel and how many stops it has to make?

That's not cool when you're under the impression it's in stock in your country.

You're right, it isn't an issue if it arrives on time and in good shape, but if it has to go across half of North America thrown from truck to truck both of those become less and less likely.

Shipping wouldn't be a whole $20 either if it was actually in Canada, at least it shouldn't cost the same amount to ship within your country that it does across North America.

You're either one dumb or arrogant person. If the distance from the warehouse is  larger than what the branch will truck it they will send it to the airport to send it faster via plane. Do you think that Mr. Bob the UPS guy drives his truck from the newegg warehouse straight to your house?

UPS, Fedex, DHL, etc know what they are doing.

.ca just means that you can buy those products and receive them in canada

that does not mean they are shipped directly from canada

the products are not made in canada anyway

newegg does not have a gigantic warehouse in canada stocked with every single one of the hundreds of thousands of items on their website

some stuff is in the warehouse, other stuff is shipped from the manufacturer directly

that's how world trade works

the difference is that 1) its in canadian prices and 2) you can actually get the stuff unlike .com where most items only ship to the US

No, you're aware there are multiple UPS facilities across the country which the trucks stop at and transfer packages right?

Sorry for expecting that fucking wild and completely impossible scenario...

No I'm not expecting 1 dude with 1 truck to non-stop drive to my fucking house...

I think you're forgetting just how durable cases are, and the fact that it's got foam in there protecting it from drops and such.

Your case will be fine.

I know they have one in Ontario, it's where my NH-U14S came from. Still took them a week and a half to get it to me.

I've ordered something from newegg.ca before and they shipped from their warehouse in Mississauga, Ontario - didn't have any issues with that and it came really quickly compared to shipments from the US which was nice.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

No that's because shipping in general costs more in Canada and because the Canadian dollar is really bad right now. I doubt they charge any more than they would if they were shipping from a warehouse in Canada. They were probably paying out of their own pocket in order for you to get it faster.

So, just to be clear, the price of the item, the price of the shipping, and the time for shipping is not outside of what they initially quoted you, you even pestered them to get a $10 discount on the shipping that was the same as what they quoted you, but you're still angry just because it shipped from a logistics facility that isn't in Canada?

Where is the PROBLEM here?

yes

a lot of warehouses for amazon, newegg, etc... are all in the US because that's like the "center" of america based on population that makes purchases

so stuff usually comes from china or other places in asia and get stored in the US until someone buys it, then it ships from there

Where is the PROBLEM here?

They don't give a shipping time estimate. When suddenly my tracking shows it's in California instead of Canada I think oh shit, this is about to take a whole lot longer than it would have if it was in my country.

I also didn't pester them for shit, I just asked why it was in California and not Canada when it said it was in stock on Newegg.ca, and suddenly they're like "I'll give you $10 off your shipping" out of nowhere and I basically said "Uhh, okay, that's awesome, thanks!"

And the problem here is I wasn't going to be happy if it took 3-4 weeks of truck delivery transferring across all of the US to get here.

But it looks like it's going to be flown here, so that's good.

See your item shipped from warehouse that located across the country. No way it will arrive at your door in 3 days, it has to go on a plane. It's CS (common sense) lol

It didn't say 3 day delivery anywhere. I'm sorry that paying for Ground Shipping and expecting Air Shipping isn't common sense to me.
