Ohh god I really hope so, in the old Phenom days I really loved AMD (bloody excellent CPU's) but since their Bulldozer piece of shit I couldn't be arsed with them even with a supposingly higher core count.

I was going to get a Phenom X4 but couldn't find any so I went in for my Z68 board and the Core i3.

Also 6Ghz and a 75w TDP I have to call bullshit to and why are they using a 32-bit CPU-Z?

12 cores 6ghz, I'd gladly take 275w TDP. If the rumor holds up, the 75w is likely a typo.

Honestly forget power savings and cooler temps. Turn my computer into a power hungry space heater that performs like a true enthusiast piece of hardware should. If I have to, I'll find an enthusiast method of cooling ;)

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

For the cooling you could rig up an automotive style air-conditioning system (condensor, compressor and what not), I'll guarantee that it'll keep the most beast of chips cool including that stupid FX-9590 :) but the refridgerant can be quite dangerous though and here in the UK at least you need a license to be able to work with it.

I've always wanted to see if it's possible to make a regulated closed loop liquid C02 cooler with compressors to compress the gas gas back to liquid form as it moves through the system. Besides the time and effort to do such a project, the reasoning never existed ;)

If it can be imagined it can be built :) and also that is pretty much how a cars air-con operates

Too good to be true. The article says its based on false assumptions anyway

Who seriously could achieve 12cores and 6Ghz with 75W TDP (in 5-10 years probably but not now)

CPU: A10-5800K, GPU: 7660D, RAM: Corsair XMS3 2x 4GB 1600Mhz, PSU: Rosewill Stallion series RD500-2SB 500W, Motherboard: MSI FM2-A75MA-E35, HDD: WD 10EZEX 1TB Blue, Case: Rosewill Line-M mAtx

if it is true it would be AWSOME but i think this is a fake becus i dont see them going from 8 to 12 cores more likely a 10 core

If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough it will be believed.

12 cores wouldn't surprise me but the 6Ghz clock speed and the TDP of 75w doesn't seem right lol

Maybe it's overclocked ?

1.436v doesn't sound right for a chip with a 75w tdp? This should explain the insanely high clock speeds.

yeah that 75w is cinda wierd didnt they bring out a cpu with 6ghz with like 200w tdp?

Yeah, I'm calling shenanigans on that, even if I can't help wishing it were true, that should get Intel off their asses...

Just keep this in mind:

I would like to mention it once again that this rumor is mostly based on false assumptions by the leaker. It’s false since AMD doesn’t has a 25nm process design planned for 2014 nor do they have plans to release a new socket for their FX line of processors.

that is total BS, Rory Read has said during investor meeting last year that they are going to go directly to 20nm from 28nm. But I do hope this kind of thing.
