Just using the phenom name Would be an improvement, I don't know Why They stopped using it in the First place

everyone saying this isn't doable is *cleaned*. we're just talking about a large piece of silicon. fitting another 4 cores onto a 8350 or 8320 would be relatively easy, and we KNOW that those chips can hit 7 ghz with the correct (albeit extreme) cooling solutions. The only thing I don't believe is 25nm and 75w.

not that I think this processor exists.... but I hope it does.

Uh, personally I don't think this is doable with 75w.

No one is an idiot here, but surely 6GHz and 12 cores with only a 75w TDP is damn near impossible.

With all due respect; i don't think anyone was having trouble believing the 12 core part...like you, it's the power. You seem to have contradicted yourself by saying it is doable, but then going on into not believing the 25nm and 75W part; suggesting it isn't doable.

My theory is that the CPU is such a high TDP CPU-Z isn't detecting it right? XD idk.

If this is legit though O________________________________O no one man needs all that power.

The sad thing is...if AMD would've released a proper Phenom III and not that bottlenecked  Zambezi, we would've not be so amazed by these specs. And Intel wouldn't spit on our overclocker hands!

I don't believe this is real, sadly. However, if it was, 12 cores is entirely possible, but the 75W TDP is unlikely, especially at 6GHz. My guess is that if this was real, it would have been overclocked because the voltage is so high. But who knows, maybe AMD do have a 75W 12-core CPU in the works. Stranger things have happened and we need AMD to be competitive in the high end market again.

A 6 GHZ 12 Cores CPU with 15-20% more single threaded performance than current PD @250W TDP and $1000 price tag will NOT be the FX-9590 failure!

i'd believe a 175W TDP (bare minimum) and a 28nm manufacturing process, but nothing like these claims. there's no way AMD would offer twice as many cores as Sandy Bridge-E for less power. still, i'd like these rumors to at least be clarified to a more realistic outlook.

if AMD can at least get a new chipset going, preferably one that supports PCI-E 3.0, and deliver on FX Steamroller as advertised without causing another Bulldozer situation, then i'd be a happy person. i'm still waiting for news on that...

Note: If you missed the note on the top, then i would like to mention it once again that this rumor is mostly based on false assumptions by the leaker. It’s false since AMD doesn’t has a 25nm process design planned for 2014 nor do they have plans to release a new socket for their FX line of processors.

wtf was the point then !!!!

It'll be the same as Core 2 Duo, they rolled back and reverted back to the older architecture to go down a different route.

Well AMD did want to have a lga 2011 competitor and this would be the perfect thing, but the die would probably be huge to fit 12cores.

AMD seems to have a marketing scheme with high-end coolers. "hehehe.... if you guys only make CPUs with tremendous TDPs, we can both make bank!"

It would be for the consumers, and that's all that matters where we're concerned. Of course, it's not true either way. :P
