The Netherlands will monitor everything...

The Dutch government is ******...

Plz read this... http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/07/08/dutch_snooping_law_revamp/

Quote "The proposed update of the Intelligence & Security Act of 2002 would establish bulk interception powers for “any form of telecom or data transfer”.

As well as metadata, the revamp would allow the Dutch intelligence services to compel anyone to help decrypt data, either by providing encryption keys or turning over decrypted data."

Here is the explanation... https://blog.cyberwar.nl/2015/07/dutch-intelligence-bill-proposes-non-specific-bulk-interception-powers-for-any-form-of-telecom-or-data-transfer-incl-domestic/

And the original Dutch law proposal... http://www.internetconsultatie.nl/wiv

What do you guys think of this?

If you're not doing anything wrong, why care :^)

jk.

This is complete bull. I hate that governments think they can do this.

I don't even know if it's legal.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

It's governments, all they have to do is say it's legal, and they are golden.

wow what....

I thought our government wasn't that bad in terms of cyber privacy and security.

Guess I was wrong...

Holy shit the possible scope of this shit it horrible:

ISP's, cloud hosters and such could perhaps be required to hand over TLS or other crypto keys used for internal use (ie between data centers) if this could help in the investigation....

That is something I do not like at all...

i'm not sure if our governments(any country) are slowly turning into a terrorist regimen with a pretty faced mask on.., pretty sure if a different organization did the same exact thing they'd be labeled terrorists & would be stopped at any cost, but since it's our government meh' , it won't be harmful right? you know that cliche plot twist, But i think everybody's too quiet about this & those who are willing o speak up are shut down immediately ,

The Scandinavian countries (though Sweden has been losing their way because of TPB pressure) all respect privacy.

In fact, last year Norway pushed through a law to give police less access to citizen data. (Police can't search license plates without a warrant anymore)

Germany is still largely OK as well.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Police can't search license plates?

Can you elaborate on that a little? How does one search a 2 dimensional flat object, that is readily viewable to all who look?

Do you mean they can't type the plate number into their database and search for it without a warrant?

Their systems don't allow access to DMV decords anymore. Now they need a warrant to get an ID from a license plate from the DMV.
