Press Win + R, then enter ncpa.cpl. Right-click on your network adapter and select Properties. Now click on Internet Protocol Version 4 and select Properties again. Now select "Use the following DNS Server". Se the Primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 and the Secondary to 8.8.4.4. Those are Google's Public DNS Servers. Now click OK and you're done.

The thing that annoys me the most is people that will not try to learn to use computers.

For example my older brother (20 years old), every time there is ANYTHING wrong with his PC he asks me.

Brother:"youtube won't load"

Me:"reboot"

Brother:"why is there 74 windows updates?"

Me:"becuase you haven't rebooted in months".

--The next day--

I see him searching using asks

me:"why are you using ask?"

Brother:"I don't know how to remove it"  --- But he actually deleted it through the control panel.

Me "have you tried searching google on how to do it?"

And it is like that with  every little thing. Otherwise he's awesome so it's fine:-)

I have a non-techie friend. I had just bought a computer case... With no components inside yet. The idiot said "So does this thing work yet" and I asked him to take a good look inside. It only had the front panel cables HANGING down and he said "should work, just plug that stuff into the mother board" and I said "oh sweet! Could you locate the motherboard for me?!" He didn't respond. Lol I wanted to explode but not all of my friends know about computers.

Wat

This guy wastes his money on a case that doesn't have parts in it and probably looks ugly. What a shame.

My mom did this to get 2 copies of a packing slip:

Print out one, and use the copier to make another.

So this happend to me yesterday

Since i don't have a decent monitor yet(17inch 1280x1024) I decided to hook my newly build PC to the TV in the living room.

I installed windows + drivers and did some testing.

Decided to load up battlefield 4 campaign to check if it was performing well (never had played BF4).

Then my mom entered the room and she was freaked out i connected my PC to the TV, she started shouting: "you will break our TV !" Playing that stupid game on my expensive TV ! That thing is not made for that !

Try to reason with her what didn't work out at all my ignorant brother said:"t the PC will blow up the TV"

So i gave up, just to avoid my mom damaging my PC ... (from her rage)

She didn't even know u could connect a PC to a TV at all.

Its sad that my parents don't support my computer hobby ... hope I'm sure that I'm not the only one out there

Guess I'm lucky that my parents don't care about how I spend my time. it is my time after all so long as I don't break anything I can do whatever I want. Although that being said they do want me to go outside on walks every day which mostly turned into a once in a while sort of thing.

Anyways I'm not sure if it will help or not but being able to sabotage something (blame it on hackers or something) and then fix it after a while of "troubleshooting" can be used to instill fear in nontechies which could lead to them supporting your interest in technology. *(DISCLAIMER: The closest I got to trying that out was using a mac address based filter on the network as a means of gaining leverage for negotiations. I also claimed it was for security reasons so I had a backup plan :P Basically use my advice at your own risk!)

I was on PCPartPicker once at school ( I'm a real rebel) showing my friends the PC I was going to make. All of a sudden, some nob turned around, looked at me and said 'just get a laptop, they're faster'. At that point, I left. If I didn't, I would've screamed in his uneducated, retarded face.
