Ok. This is something we’ve never done before. There’s a piece of content coming in 2015 that we’re really excited about. We will build a Battlefield 4 map together with you – the community. Together with our development team, you will get to shape a playable map based on your input and expertise on what makes a fun multiplayer level. This map will then be tested and tweaked in the CTE (Community Test Environment), available for Battlefield 4 Premium members.

 

As part of this CTE testing you will be providing feedback* on the map, and creating the final thing together with us. During this process we’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes details of what the development process for making a multiplayer map looks like.

As a thank you to the Battlefield community for sticking to your Battlefield 4 guns and giving excellent feedback to improve the game, we want to show our appreciation by releasing the “Community Map” as a free download, available to players on all platforms.

Okay, Before you guys start moaning about "DICE WTF U MOFOS Y U NO GIVE FROSTBITE SDK EA DIGGING SUCK DUCK" Its a good thing, Even if we don't get our very own maps made by hand from the community its still nice that they're listening to us in this fashion.

 

Lets bring some old BF maps back, perhaps the forum could come up with some ideas for a map?

best thing of it is, we can create skins are most of the community made skins that get big end up in the game, like fire and water elemental, a bunch of good, high priced skins were community made

Actually, look at it like this: the premium members are the only ones that are garunteed to have the next map packs, therefore they have the first say in how they're made...

Well, Im sure you wouldn't like to have millions of people screaming ideas to you.

 

It make sense, Linus is more likely to listen to the mod team because they have a closer relationship then the rest of the people on the forum.

No it isn't like CS:GO. 

 

The final map will probably be Metro but with better US spawns. Places for YOLO_TRYHARD to spray with his ACE 23 and all that.

Well if you're a serious battlefield player how do you not have premium already. Premium is great value, especially when it's on sale for like $25, so much content, plus the CTE has so many more improvements, like currently they're doing night maps for siege of shanghai reworking the whole map.

How about make a map editor and let us host our own privately owned servers and let us do whatever we want with the game since it is nearing EOL (gonna be replaced by hardline soon)

That would truly make it community-based. That is what we want.

ikr, specially when us non premium members actually bought all the map packs as well at a higher price, but i think they are saying that only the premium members can design the maps. but everyone else can play on them. im fine with not designing the maps but i sure as hell will be mad if i cant play on them either.
