Hello,

I recently switched to Ubuntu 26.04 from windows 10. Overall, the gaming experience has been fine with one exception. CS2 defaults to stretched resolution when I set it to 1280x1024. In most games this wouldn't be an issue since I would just play without blackbars, but CS2 is the one game I cannot play without them.

I know on windows I could just go into AMD Adrenaline and set the scaling mode to 'Preserve Aspect Ratio' and it would be fine. Is there any setting similar to this on Ubuntu, (or any way to get blackbars to work at all for that matter), or am I just SOL?

I have tried installing gamescope and entering the following in 'Launch Options' on steam: gamescope --force-grab-cursor -w 1280 -h 1024 -W 1920 -H 1080 -S fit -f -- %command%

I then tried using Scopebuddy to make a config that would force CS2 to load with blackbars but, unless I am just stupid and did it wrong (entirely possible), this didn't work.

Specs if that helps:

Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B650-PLUS

CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 5 7600X × 12

GPU/Graphics: AMD Radeon™ RX 5600 XT

RAM: 64 Gigs 3200mb

Kernel: Linux 7.0.0-22-generic

OS: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS

OS Type: 64-bit

Gnome Version: 50

Windowing System: Wayland

Thanks
