None, lol, just the shape (triangular?) resembles it. :P

Its actually just depth perception I think! The piece of fish was cut into a rectangle but the tail of the fish tapers off a bit giving a bit of a triangle look from that angle.

I am intrigued. What are they? Pastries? Some kind of dumpling?

It's yeast dough. Sweet, fluffy and slightly moist because it is steamed in milk.

It looks really good. Like something you bring out to impress your guests at dinner.

I don't think you could impress guests with Dampfnüdeln.

Maybe with homemade Dampfnüdeln but not with these from the supermarket which cost 0.99€ for a pack of six.

I definitely eat way too much junk food... feelsbadman. :$

For breakfast, I usually eat whatever leftovers we had from the nights previous.

My weakness is boneless wings though; they're everythingggggg.

Had some Mexican at a restaraunt that just opened and it was good. Simple menu 8 or so items lots of Mexican pop and 3 juice drinks. I like the milky cinnamon one. I will start going there more often now, next I will try their refried beans and rice. And go for the chicken.

Even Mucho Burritto gives me diaherra, I have been to 3 or 4 different locations and its bad. Taco Time and the other national chain are a fucking joke! I prefer to support local companies, and it looks like a family business and their english is good. So I support them. The Subway I stopped at before hand for a drink, the owners fucking children were there, and Subway was busy. That shit just pisses the fuck outta me, plus most of the time, I see the fat east indian lady (owners wife) sitting down and eating. What a joke!

Eh. Don't tell them they're store bought and they look pretty enough xD

Decided to go way beyond my usual cooking and try cooking liver

AkfKBll.jpg

Served with sauteed onions and pressed potatoes. Time to find out how it tastes.

Final verdict. Nope. Nein. No. Not a fan of that.

Yeah i agree.. Figured it would be decent when lightly battered and pan seared. But man that taste is sharp.

Even with a fork with mostly potatoes and onion with a small piece of liver on the end it was overpowering.

Smelled like nothing when i took it out of the freezer, Smelled good when cooking..

Currently have scented candles burning all over my place just to cover the smell of it now.

And i've thrown it all out already..

Yeah i've gone 10 years without having liver for dinner. Will go 10 more now. At least

Got some chicken sitting in a store bought tex mex marinade for tomorrow though. Now that'll be good.

I can't stand liver at all. Family loves liverwurst, still somewhat confused why I won't eat it. Stuff is way too strong of a flavor, and honestly it's not even that good of a flavor.

Washed it down with a beer and some chips. But i still get hints of the flavor..

Just ordered 1KG smoked(hickory) salt for 14€ I am quite excited.

Somebody experience with smoked salt?

I've never used smoked salt. But I love Lawry's Seasoned Salt for a variety of things, and Red Robin seems to as well. Well rather they have a seasoning that's pretty close to Lawry's that they have on their tables and I presume they put a little on the burgers and steak fries. As of late, I've been buying steak fries and putting seasoned salt on them so I can save the $30 or so it would be for my mom and I to go to Red Robin.

Oh hell no. Throw some sprats on a piece of pan toasted rye with some dill and mustard. Serve and at least its edible.

(Now mind you. I wouldn't have that as a first choice any day of the week. But in a pinch. Sure.)

Even covered with gravy, onion and potatoes liver tasted like arse.

My dinner for tomorrow.

GxUcaQB.jpg

Prime grade ribeye steak from Whole Foods. About 2 inches thick.

Gonna starve myself a bit tomorrow. Not entirely sure how I am going to cook it.

Makes me want to get a nice slab of beef (not sure if maybe sirloin or top sirloin) from my store's meat counter.

Hey guys! Just raided my kitchen and I've found some pork ribs in the freezer, would that be good with curry sauce after I grill it a bit?

Do you have some mustard cream and black pepper? That makes for a super sauce with pork when pan fried (with some butter ;) )

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

Oh man, how have I not seen this thread before? I'm a big fan of food. Not much on the junk food (although I do partake in occasion) but I love cooking and hitting up restaurants. Anywho, enough with the babble, onto the porn:

I usually make these bad boys during cottage season. Nothing too fancy, just some ribs in a Jack Daniels BBQ sauce that I whip up. I usually do the ribs in 2 parts. First I'll season them, wrap them in foil and then hit them on the grill for about 40 minutes. Afterwards, I take them off the grill, hit them with the BBQ sauce and cook them on low for another 20 or so while I keep the BBQ sauce going.

Figure'd I'd spoiler tag the rest cause I don't want a massive post.

Spoiler

This was a chicken I made that I wrapped in prosciutto. First I got some color on the chicken in a pan and browned it up a bit. Afterwards, I took it off the pan, coated the chicken with a bit of a dijon mustard/sage/thyme mixture, wrapped the chicken and tossed it into an oven to finish it off. Sorry about the sad potatoes LOL.

This was a super simple pasta. Just cream, cheese and butter with some onions, garlic and basil. Trick is getting nice ingredients cause preparing it isn't too difficult. If you cheap out on your cheese and stuff though you'll taste it (or won't cause of how bland it'll end up!)

This was a steak I did on a bed of button mushrooms and topped with a chimichurri I did. I don't usually put things on steak aside from salt and pepper but once in a while a nice chimichurri can really lift a dish and in this case it really worked with the steak.

and finally:

Spoiler

LzWbIcm.jpg

Some chicken wings in a home made buffalo sauce. I use a blend of hot sauces in it as well as a few dashes of things to give it some kick. Not really the best picture but they were super good. I make them all the time cause I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty addicted to wings. Especially buffalo ones.

Might be cooking up a storm this weekend as well. If I do, I'll be sure to post a photo. :)

Looks super good for sure! I'm gonna be firing up some steak tonight. Hopefully it turns out as nice as your dish!

Anywho, haven't been cooking much but I've been out and about this week and grabbed some oysters and some flautas over the weekend. Was good stuff:

*Ding* fries aren't done. But the burgers are

zwvKjQp.jpg

Today's dinner. To my horror i realized that i didn't have any vegetables at all.. I usually have at least paprika and cucumber..

But bacon goes in bacon salads therefore i'll call it a salad. Added some cheddar on there and barbecue spices.

Along with pickles, Ketchup, spicy mustard and burger dressing. And real bread. Because fuck that special bread. And to hell with the consequences.

Some canada dry ginger ale to wash it all down as well.

Was only going to make one burger but another burger fell out of the package and into the pan. Hence two burgers and no fries.
